Over priced by a buck, not $70.
Ya but you have to keep buying it. I would say in a year, you overspend more on water than the entire Pit Bull stand costs. Not just the difference between the LP and pitbull.

I almost said 'Uncle' on this one and then I realized that I have bought bottled water, but don't on a regular basis. I still think water should be free....

Take that!

Re: Pit Bull Stand vs LP Stand

Sorry I'm a little late to the party on this one, but I did have a bike (750 Ninja) fall off of an LP stand. *

This was about 10 years ago, and it damaged the heck out of the bike, but in LP's defense, they stepped up to the plate and paid for all the repairs to the bike and gave me another, beefier & redesigned stand. *So, I have no problems with LP and how they stand behind their products, but I do now have and use only Pit Bull stands on my 954.

Well, that is a good question. I'm sure he could answer it after he builds the first one, if I can convince him to do it (which I don't think will be that difficult).

He's technically retired but he still does smaller projects (his machine shop is at home). I'll ask him this weekend. He's also an MC rider so perhaps that will help grease the skids, so to speak.

Oh, and his boss (wife) probably won't care much at all..

booth23 : Holeshot wow you got ripped. *I have the same front and rear stands that you do. *Got em both for $250 new. *$9 for the 929 adapter, and about $10 for the pin (or did it come with it * ) *When I got the RC I converted the rear stand to spools for like $28 and the 51 pin was $15.
The Ducati adapter from Pit-Bull is more than just a Pin like for our bikes though. Plus, they know that if you can afford a Duck you can afford an expensive stand adapter.

The Biggest difference I see with the pit bull is RESALE. You can sell them in a Minute.

Re: Pit Bull Stand vs LP Stand

Hi, bikers:
I am using K&L supply rear stand products for my 954 and haven't had any problems since. They are well made and durable. They work as good as pit bull and cost about 50 bucks less. Here is the website K&L supply

Isn't that the truth. I sold the rear stand for the CBR in a bout 5 min., after I found a used stand for the Duc in the city.

It's a load of crap though. Imagine having to pay double the price of gas as your average McDonalds worker just because you make 2x (or 10x) more money... that's gouging.

I ended up finding a used PB rear stand for the Duc so I don't need to worry about that but I'm still going to pursue the home-brew fork adaptor.

If it is was like $50, PB would be getting my money.. as it is they can kiss by big-white-kiester. $140 for a section of tub stock, a short section of bar stock, two red rubber ends and a pair of funky-hooks just seems insane.

With the shipyards here I know tons of people that fabricate steel all day long. Each of them just laughed at the cost.

Now PB did put in the time to figure it out and that's worth a lot.. but not *that* much, at least not to me.. today.

- D (I reserve the right to eat my words and pay the $140 for the adaptor at my discretion)
