| Re: Arai: Quantum f or astral? Hello,
I am looking to purchase one of these two helmets next week. I have tried both on for a lenghty period (new so i couldn't ride with it unfortunately) and they both fit very well. Does anyone have one of these helmets and would like to offer a personal opinion?
I am most concerned about wind noise? Thanks in advance for your response

| Re: Arai: Quantum f or astral? I have both of them, and I have to say that they both are AWESOME helmets! You cannot go wrong with either one, but the Astral is a bit quieter, since it does not have the same ventilation at the Quantum. Both do make some noise though.
Good luck! |

| Re: Arai: Quantum f or astral? Go quantum...its the racier of the 2 helmets....great ventilation...and noise is not too bad once you get used to it...and you should be wearing ear plugs anyway to protect your hearing! |

| Re: Arai: Quantum f or astral? The main difference between the two is the shape. *the Quantum is a short oval whereas the Astral is a medium oval. *The Astral vents are easier to open and close with gloves on. |

| Re: Arai: Quantum f or astral? Neither of those is really that loud. You want loud, try an old RX7-RR3. Sounds like a damn freight train running through your head. I have the RR4. It's a little bit quiter, but still loud. You cannot beat the ventilation in that sucker, though. |

| Re: Arai: Quantum f or astral? have a quantum f.
top quality lid, bit noisy because of the vents, but with it's fine earplugs, (which i also reckon you should wear all the time out of town) |

| Re: Arai: Quantum f or astral? I have both as well. Astral is a wee bit quieter & easier to manage with gloves on. The Quantum is a bit louder, much better airflow, and still manageable with gloves on. I actually like my Quantum better |

| Re: Arai: Quantum f or astral? I have an Astral, & I love it. I ride alot at night & my shield on my old lid (hjc) would always fog up. The ventilation on the Arai is much better & the shield never fogs up on me. |
