Re: Arlen Ness gear?

I am thinking of replacing my worn 2-piece leathersuit.

I found a dealer in my town that sells 'Arlen Ness' 2 piece leathers for a price my mastercard might handle

I think it was called 'velocity'. Does anyone have any experience with this brand or this suit??

I haven't tried it on yet, so I don't know anything about the fit..

I know Arlen Ness traditionally is a 'cruiser brand' but the 'velocity' suit looked ok

Please share your experiences!

Edited 19/7: Ok!

I went ahead and bought the Arlen Ness two-piece suit. The fit is fine except for the belly/back area. I guess i'll have to drink more beer

I feel much safer in this suit than in my previous. All the protectors are located exactly where they ought to be, and I think they will stay in place if I go down as well. It's not perforated in the front, and that makes it very hot on days like this (+27C in Norway today)

There are hard protectors in the following locations: elbows, shoulders, underarms, knees and below the knees (shins??)

The hips and ass is protected by 'semi-hard' protectors.

There is also a 'race hump' on the back.

The leather is quite nice from new, but i bet it will get even better after som more riding. Rode aprox 350 km's today and it's starting to loosen up quite nicely.

So far I will recomend it. But I guess you can't be sure about the safety until I go down (knock on wood)

Here is a pic of the new suit with me in it

Re: Arlen Ness gear?

Isn't Aaron Yates wearing Arlen Ness this year? Of course his suit and a consumer suit will be about as similar as Duhamel's JR suit and a consumer JR suit.

Re: Arlen Ness gear?

Looks good! Nice silver Blade, too.

Don't forget to add a back protector. Not the most comfortable thing, but if you ever need it, you'll be glad it's there.

Re: Arlen Ness gear?

Thanks for the compliments * I always wear a backprotector.. Mine is called Dainese HPC and has a 'pivot-thingy' above waist height and isn't uncomfortable at all. It makes me sweat pretty bad on hot days like this, but otherwise I don't mind wearing it at all. My sis is down-under these days, so look out!! *

Edit: Sorry Oz... I tought you were one of the Aussies on the board...

Re: Arlen Ness gear?

Must have something to do with my screen name. One of the guys that works for me nicknamed me Oz as in, 'The Wizard of...'

I wear a one-piece Dainese with a back protector that 's held in place by a snap at the top and a strap around my waist at the bottom. Makes it a bit warmer in the summer, but the suit's well perforated in the front, so it's not too bad so long as I'm moving.
