The helmet contains the head, the motorbike makes sure the head stays sane. |

| Re: Suomy Spec1R...UPDATE 7-21-04 Ok so here's what I did.
I ordered the PItt Extreme. The guy told me the Extreme would run a bit smaller then the regular Spec1R. I wear a medium in just about every helmet I have ever owned, so I went with the large. At the time all they had in stock was a large so I was hoping it would fit. Well a few days later when it arrived it ended up being to big . The helmet looks sweet and is top notch. The sheild is by far the coolest looking thing I have ever seen in my life on a helmet. So I sent it back and talked to him about getting a medium. As it turns out the medium seems to be on Intergallactic Backorder, and he doesn't know when his distributor will be sending him one...again So now I have no new lid to show off. Well he contacts me last night and tells me he has a very special Suomy Extreme on it way to him. It's a medium and after he told me what it was, I told him I'd take it. What makes this new one so special is that there are only 16 of them in the USA. This lid was what I wanted and the rider who wears it just started wearing this scheme this year, so I figured they wouldn't have one out yet if at all. Well I was wrong and it'll be on my way to my house Monday morning.

Saw this one in the Suomy tent at Laguna. They had some great prices there at the track.
Wait a minute... It better not be a red version of Bostrom's helmet I saw him wearing at Laguna!!!!!

365 for spec 1R
460 for extreme.
Also FYI shipping estimates here are reasonable too like $12.00 to me
One question..How is the fit compared to Arai RX-7 corsair? It fits me nice but I wear an XL.. I swear i tried an XL in suomy Spec 1 R and it was too tight and they didn't have a XXL to try. Thoughts? | I think the Suomy's do run a little smaller, if you go to their US site it has the hat sizes also.
as far as the sticker comment, I don't think its all sticker,I have the Guareshchi and the book (which I assume is the same for all Spec 1Rs) says that some of the paints are florescent (the orange on mine being the Flourescent), but I can't find any lines where a sticker would end so if they are stickers they must have covered the entire thing in sticker (clear over the orange paint). but then again if it was all paint it'd be a very sophisticated computer doing the program (some fancy graphics on a curved surface)
why couldn't this post have been started like 2 or 3 months ago when I bought mine, I did so much searching cause I didn't want to pay the $500 retail, I got it for $430 shipped to my door from mrmotorcycle.com
but I love the helmet, my only complaints are that the chin gets a little close but its ok and there is more noise than there should be in a top of the line helmet (I think my HJC was a little quiter but haven't worn it since getting the Suomy) the Suomy doesn't shake on my head as much as the HJC did at higher speeds.

I'm sure all the production graphic helmets are done this way.

| Re: Suomy Spec1R...UPDATE 7-21-04 Ah, nice lid. I still like my black based one as it matches the bike and gear better as I don't have any red in any of them.
Pretty sweet! Is it a red Extreme or regular Spec-1R?
I should have had him sign it at Laguna.
