RF-1000 & Oxtar Jupiter Boots

The lid fits well, not quite a perfect "10" (a la the glove-like fit of my old Quantum) but it is very close. I'd give it a solid 9. No pressure points, feels very light on the head, snugs up on the cheeks nicely, the visor system is superior to Arai's (both in terms of swapping out shields and using them with a gloved hand) and it looks damn good too IMO. That it was about half the cost of a new solid color Quantum seals the deal. My Arai is now in mothballs. $269 from Helmet Harbor, free shipping. Thumbs up!

The Oxtar Jupiter boots are very substantial, feeling almost like some of the Sidi race boots I've tied on at the local shop. Yet they are extremely comfortable, more so than any other moto-boot I've put on my foot. They offer very sturdy construction and beefy levels of ankle protection. Gore-Tex lining is a nice bonus (waterproof and breathable), the soles are uber-grippy, and I like the relief they've cut into the back of the boot top to allow sportbike riders to articulate their foot downward to pick up the shifter and brake pedal. In short, these things flat rock. $119 from New Enough, good for another thumb!

My first new helmet in several years and my second pair of motorcycle specific boots ever, all for less than four bills. I'm pretty satisfied.

Very nice, Chain. I like those boots - they look comfy yet durable. Looks like a nice boot for canyon carving. The helmet should make you very visible to cagers, and gives you that nice Euro-biker look, although I prefer something a little more racy myself . Good choices, as usual.

One size larger than the size would indicate. For instance, my Alpinestars are Euro size 47. I would have bought the same in Oxtar but the guy at New Enough said they run roomy, so I bought a 46 and they fit perfectly.

If you don't mind my saying so, you have particularly discerning taste in helmets, TGZ!

As do you

I don't think a day goes by that people don't compliment me on my helmet.

Everywhere I go people ask where I got it painted blah blah blah

Well worth every penny
