Arai helmet help

I have an Arai quantum and I was wondering if you can adjust how snug the visor is on it, I find when I am riding in town with the visor up, it won't stay in place(keeps closing). I was wondering if there is a way to tighten it up so that the screen will stay in place, any ideas? Thanks in advance...

Re: Arai helmet help

You could put some very thin clear film (like tankslapper type 3M stuff) around the friction areas of the visor (not helmet) hinge. Past a certain speed, nothing will keep the visor up.

Re: Arai helmet help

Hey, I forgot that I had posted this, anyone who was having the same problem that I was with their arai(visor not working right) get to the next ama bike race, when I was at Mid Ohio I went to the arai service pavilion. I have to say a huge thanks to Robert at the booth, he replaced both side pannels(where your visor snaps in) instaled a new locking mechanism(underneath the side pannels) a set of new quick release snaps and he cleaned it up for me(big job) all for 8 bucks... another thing that he did for me was measure my melon for the new corsair that I will be picking up in the near future(hopefully in the fall in Atlanta) he also showed me how to pull all of the removable pannels out, how to properly wash and clean them, and how to remove the side pannels...He was a huge help and was great to deal with, he said that he can give advice or help over e-mail too (servpavilion2002@hotmail.com)
Just thought that I would let every one know

Re: Arai helmet help

glad it worked out for you. i have the same model helmet but without the visor issue. the LRS (lever release system) takes some time to get used to.
