Looks like the group buy on the sv board was as follows..

Recovering from 5 fractured ribs (and a broken collarbone)---if these things work--it would be money well spent.

Im gonna go get one of those Dainse mesh full armout under jacket for my dirt bike endevours cuz broken ribs are a plain in the ass--much worse than the broken collarbone

Are you talking about the A* tech series? I have the A* tech series back protector. I don't see why it wouldn't work with most/all back protectors. You can just stick it in the front of your leathers.....only thing I can see getting in the way is if a particular back protector wraps around you some....then you'd have to discuss with Mike (or me) when he makes the template and describe it in your measurements.

Is it held in place with straps? and if so, would they interfere with the back protector straps? If he says the chest protector will work comfortably and effectively with the Bohn back protector, I'm in for one .. What's the next step?

Is this just a thin foam pad or is there some armor involved?

Its not just a foam pad like you see in some jackets and suits. They are pretty thin, about pinky thickness. It is made from a hard material and makes a knocking sound when you rap it, but still flexible enough to bend and conform to your back.

This will then be turned over to Mike and he'll look over the information, contact you for payment info and then begin to make and send out the templates for trial. If the templates are good then the protector will be made. If you have any questions give me a holler.

I talked with Mike and he said that the chest protector will work well with other back protectors. It's not held in place with straps. You can just slip it in the front of your leathers, or there's a velcro patch on the front, so one can be put on the inside of your leathers if wanted.
