Joe Rocket leathers and boots

Hey all. I'm looking to get some Joe Rocket stuff (rest of my gear is joe rocket and thought I would just keep it the same if I could.) I was wondering if anyone has either the blaster 2.0, mercury or speedmaster jackets? Also, Has anyone tried on either the blaster, hard drive or speedmaster boots? I'm looking to get a combination of those. Another thing, does anyone know what the 360 degree and the zipper on the speedmaster jacket is? Is it a 360 degree zipper? I want to try them on but because I'm in the UK I can't. There are no dealers out here. If anyone has any suggestions on other leather gear and boots that I can get that's decent quality for a fairly decent price (no more than 6 or 7 hundred on a suit and no more than 250 on boots), I'm totally open to suggetsions. But for now i'm going to look like a poser with all my Joe Rocket gear.

Re: Joe Rocket leathers and boots

I have been looking at a Blaster jacket it has an 8" zipper for pants like the Phoenix etc. not as secure as a 360degree zipper. I have yet to find a Speedmaster to try and am worried about the speed humps impact on a backpack (but have been told no worry)

The Speedmaster has both zippers. Most of this is available at the Joe Rocket site and the Blaster as a write up on NewEnough.com

Suggestion: If you had more detail on height/weight riding style (track/road/temps while riding etc) the feedback will be more specific.

Re: Joe Rocket leathers and boots

I'm 5 10 with about a 38 inch waist. I'm mainly riding for pleasure. I'm not totally comfortable with putting my knees on ground yet so I'm not in desperate need of a suit with knee pucks but I would like to get to that point sooner or later. I would like to be able to take my bike on a track day or two sometime. I have some blaster pants coming in the mail soon and figured that jacket would be good. I found the blaster 1.0 on ebay for about 150 which seems like a reasonable price.

Re: Joe Rocket leathers and boots

Maybe the track day folks can correct me but I would expect full leather with 360 degree zip or 1 piece is mandatory. Might get info from those that know before you proceed.

Ok, So i've got a new Joe Rocket Blaster jacket coming in the mail. I've got a set of slightly used Sidi Verterbra 2's coming. I'm excited.

Re: Joe Rocket leathers and boots

Ok, got the Blaster Jacket in the mail on Saturday. It was a little big for me but I'm ok with for for the time being. I ordered the perforated one and didn't realize it. The jacket has a full 360 zip plus the 8 inch zip so I can have a suit for a track day. Leather seems fairly durable. Waiting to get it fully broken in. Overall, i'm really happy with the jacket other than the fact that it's perforated but I think a few extra layers will help. I also got the blaster pants. The pants are nice. No velcro for knee pucks but I don't need it as of yet. The padding is mainly on the shin/knee area. It seems like it will take care of me if I fall. (let's just pray that I don't). The thighs are padded lightly. Full 360 zip and 8 inch zip also.

Re: Joe Rocket leathers and boots

Try a microfleece under the jacket. At hiking stores you can find windproof versions that while pricey are warm, thin, light and stop the wind. I do this under my Phoenix when I start in the chill mornings.
