It's Jacket time in AZ..What to buy?!

IM looking for a new leather jacket for our so called Winter here in AZ..Average temp at night .40 degree's...
Ive narrowed it down to either a Alpinestar's Stunt or TZ-1, Or the Joe Rocket Speedmaster or Blaster 2.0..
Anyone have experience with either brands? Pro's --- con's?
One better than the other, or is it boil down to just trying them on at a retail store and seeing what one fits best?

Cost isnt a huge factor, I want to spend less than $350.00 and the Alpinestar's fall in the $260-300 range, Joe Rocket about 50.00 more..

Post up!

Stunt here. Its a great jacket.. Very comfortable (once you break it in... I had several methods ) Also very well made and feels very protective, Minus the back pad which I replaced with my JR one

Re: It's Jacket time in AZ..What to buy?!

I was in almost your exact situation recently. I wound up getting a Blaster 2 and am happy.
1) Could not find a Speedmaster to try on and was worried about fit and the speed hump interfering with my backpack
2)TZ-1 nice jacket, nice fit but I preferred the Stunt because of the insulated liner
3)Stunt came very close to getting this jacket but plan on getting pants and preferred the JR options in that area (although I might go 1 piece if I lose some lbs)
4)Got the Blaster

With hind sight: At 50 deg no need for a liner, at 40 deg still probably no need. But I am happy with my choice.

And I did not get a perforated Blaster either (like you I want a cold weather jacket) Disclaimer: I also get a great deal on JR stuff from a family member (although this was not a deciding factor)

Re: It's Jacket time in AZ..What to buy?!

I just bought the Joe Rocket Alter Ego jacket. The Alter Ego is the best jacket I have had yet. It is a cold weather, rain resistant jacket when needed. Zip out the liner and it is a cool, early morning foggy jacket. Zip off the outer panel and it is a mesh hot weather, keep you cool jacket. It has padding in all the right places, a back protector and fits my fat ass really good. Hopefully I will never have to test it in a material vs pavement situation. This is one of the best all around textile jackets I have ever had.

Ok, well I made my decision and it should be arriving courtesy of www.terra-powersports.com

I picked up a Alpinestars Tz-1 in blk-blk for $270.00 shipped, and I will have at the first of next week.

Next is some Gp pro gloves!

They staff ALWAYS helps me out when it comes to sizing or any tech questions, I highly recommend hitting thier site and looking at some pricing.
