| Gift from the wife! I have a Delphi Roady coming my way!! I cannot wait! VT stations blow, and the mountains make it had to drive longer than 30 min and keep the same one in tune! I am going to toss it on the bike and love it...I already have a helmet wired with headphones. |

I wired it myself...with walkman headphones, and a cable that has the male jack on both ends. The helmet itself has a jack on the side that i put in. I got all the good at radio shack. |

| Re: Gift from the wife! chatterboxes come with little speakers that velcro to the inside of the helmet and have a standard 1/8" female jack so something like that would work. or you could buy the little earplug headphones and put them in your ears before you put the helmet on.

| Re: Gift from the wife! I am going to be making another one soon...I will take pics as I go. I cut some foam out from around your ears (on the inside of the AGV those pads (cheek) come out and I put them right there) they are then covered with the stock cloth. It makes for strong sound, and still is comfortable. You then never have to screw around with trying to put your helmet on with wires. I hated that. |

I am not sure. I remember an old thread "XM on the bike" that I posted last year...and I think it was HG that showed me a place to get clipon style mounting plates. LINK to old thead I cannot see the pics on the thread...so maybe HG can post them again! PLEASE!
I will add pics as soon as I begin working on the new helmet, and mounting the XM Roady.

| Re: Gift from the wife! ok, So I tossed in the XM last night, and was jamming to the "Chrome" for a half hour! I really like the sound! I think that before I give a detailed report I will need to have more of a trial. But, simple to instal, and easy to use!
Right now it is in the truck...probably will not be able to use it on the bike til spring. I am going to start working on my new helmet instal this week too! |

Hey! Sorry, no pics of the Roady2 mounted yet. The bike's still in the trailer from last week's track weekend.
I can give you a start thought....go to Cycle Gadgets. I use the holder RAM-HB1 which bolts onto the switch housing on my 954's right handlebar. I then bolt a RAM-STD to the Roady clip-on holder. Lastly, you'll need an arm...there are several lengths so choose the size depending on where you mount the holder. You can get some small bolts and locking nuts at the hardware store to bolt the STD to the clip-on. Hookup your power and you'll be good to go. I installed a 9v cig lighter recepticle on the bike so to power my unit I use the supplied power plug. Or, if you want to spend more $$$, Powerlet makes some nice stuff that fits in your tankbag. I see that there's a nice antenna bracket here.
I have my antenna permanently mounted in the front fairing. I use the micro antenna which is so tiny it blends in very well. I used to have a larger antenna mounted inside the rear cowl. I didn't have reception issues in either place.
I'll see what I can do to get you a pic or 2 this weekend so you can see what the unit looks like on the bike. You're gonna love it when you riding.
One thing....unless you'll be using a RAM mount in your car, you may want to get yourself a spare clip-on holder for the Roady. That way, you won't have to bolt/unbolt the STD mount from the clip-on holder depending on where you'll be using it. |

FYI...XM is about 90% in the hills and trees.
