Re: The sun is in my eyes...

Well for some of you that may remember I asked on the old list about how to deal with the sun getting in my eyes. I bought the sunblocker.com deal and I installed it. All in all I'd have to give it a thumbs down. It's work and all but It's way to simple to charge $16.95 for. All the sunblocker is, is a little 1 1/2 inch band of thick window tinting (which I had to trim down a little). It does seem to work OK. You can still see the sun but the tint seems to defuse the sun so it's not so intense. I do recall someone (think it was baketech) suggesting to use electrical tape. This suggestion is spot on! Electrical tape is easy to install and easy to remove. So feel free to buy the sunblocker.com it does work, it's just something like 1000 times over priced. Me next time I'm just going to use the good ol' electrical tape. *

Electrical tape is the bomb for this....

Unless you have the coin for one of those Schuthbert (sp?) helmets....they have a little pull down sun shade just inside the visor.....like an astronaut helmet....totally cool

Re: The sun is in my eyes...

Why not buy a tinted shield? If you ride in the dark carry a clear one with ya in the 'trunk'

Re: The sun is in my eyes...

We hammered this out on the old forum. It was basically I ride in at night to work, then in the morning when I'm off shift its in the AM and the sun is just coming up and nice and bright. I didn't want to buy a second shield and swap back and forth. Nor could I just wear sunglasses because I wear prescription glasses. Basically I was trying to come up with an easy way to have an all purpose shield that was sun friendly. From my experience the electrical tape works best. It's cheap, easy to install, blocks the sun and you can still ride at night with no issues.

Re: The sun is in my eyes...

I'll probably get flamed for this so let me disclaim up front: Don't do this.

My Shoei XSP-II came with both a clear and light smoke visor. One day I left the clear visor at home and went to work. By the time I got on the road to go back home, it was dark. I had to ride the freeway with the light smoke visor down and I found it quite usable, even at night. So thats all I ride with now. Mind you, my route home is a VERY WELL LIT freeway route so YMMV.
