Let me know how you like it in cool/cold weather, please. I have an Arai RX7 that I like in summer but it is a tad loud. I have considered getting a Shoei X11 for spring/fall/winter. Used to have an old Shoei and loved the helmet.

I just picked up a new helmet at the Motorcycle show in Long beach last weekend. It is a Scorpion Helmet(I don't know if they actually have a web site or not but this is one you can look at). When I put it on in the garage and make vroom, vroom noises it feels better than my RF900. But I wont know how it actually works until sometime next year when I can ride again. And it was only $199.00. It has a removable, machine washable liner and a faceshield you can change in about 10 sec., that you cannot fog up no matter how hard you try.

Word of advice, never buy a helmet online unless you have tried that exact helmet on someplace before you buy. A helmet that does not fit properly is not a safe helmet. And just because you wear a L with one brand or style does not mean that all of them will be the same. I have an RF900 in the XL flavor that is a perfect fit but when I upgraded to the RF1000 a L fit perfect.

my extreme internet searching got me $70 off my Suomy Spec 1r. I didn't try one on before buying because the only place I know of around me that sells Suomy only has the Gunwind model (which is lower than the Spec 1r). but their US website lists the hat size (such as 7 1/8) next to the S,M,L, XL sizes so that helped. I was a medium in my HJC but it was a tiny bit big but a small was too small but the medium in Suomy is a perfect fit. And I can't fog that sheild either, just my glasses. I paid $50 for a mirror iridium sheild, kinda sucks its so much but the few times I got to ride with it it was nice. does seem to actually block heat from entering the helmet just as they claim. Even though I didn't do it I'm still with Max on trying one first.

edit: oh yeah if you wear glasses that is important also. a lot say glasses or goggle friendly for us vision impaired. I tried on some new Shoei a couple weeks ago at the dealership just cause the graphic looked awesome but then I couldn't even struggle to get my glasses in. what kind of $500+ helmet can't fit glases.

Had that one.. but traded it for Suomy Spec1R and Suomy has got it beat hands down.. still nice helmet though.

my only 2 complaints about that helmet and neither are even a big deal are: the chin is a little close to the front and I miss the forehead vent from my HJC when its really hot out but the rest of the venting more than makes up for it.

Its going to be pretty chilly in the fall/winter type riding. Even with the vents closed on cool mornings it can give ya a headache. As far as noise.... it can get kind of on the loud side but I wear earplugs on any highway runs and long rides so it doesnt really bother me, besides for the coolness it gives on those hot days I can deal with a little noise

That's what I was afraid of!! Have you tried some black electrical tape over the vents?
I never tried it. I did notice that if you use the chin curtain thingy it does help though. That along with my foggy did ok on chilly morning rides.

I have the same helmet and love it except for one thing...it fogs up really easy...my arai never fogged like this. Do you have the same issue?
