throwover panniers on an RR5?

I'm currently riding a 2001 RRY that copes with throwover panniers well, but I'm looking to buy an RR5 and that new, sharp rear end looks pretty awkward for fitting panniers. Anybody tried it?

brilliant, thanks. Not that I'm planning to load it very often, but it's reassuring to know that it's possible
