Yes, you will get lighter weight, better venting, blah blah blah from the higher end helmets but you are still wearing gear that will protect your cranium quite well.
I have owned HJC helmets in the past and they served their purpose. I have become spoiled by my Shoei and will probably never look back but don't think that what you have isn't a quality helmet..
Take the "in crowd" and shove em off to the side and be yourself. If it works for you then who gives a **** what everyone else thinks. | Thanks Getsome - where were you last week BEFORE I went out and spent a small fortune on my new Shoei RF-1000? Naw....I still love my HJC too! I will use both regularly.

Get him a GIFT CERTIFICATE to a motorsports shop. Helmets are a very personal thing. You need to be there to try them on. Your bf might be a large in one brand and an XL in another. Let me tell you - it matters! Look for a shop in your neck of the woods that sells helmets (Shoei, HJC, Aria, etc...) then go from there.

Go to: Welcome to HJC and take a look at them. Click on the "CL" helmets - then find a dealer in your area. That's on the web site too.
Hope this helps -
