| Re: i need some winter jacket advice hi all,
i am in the market for a winter jacket. i have always worn leather and i am considering getting a textile one for winter. i am hoping that i can get something warm and dry that will still offer the same amount of protection. i would like something that has the same looks/feel as a leather jacket. i am looking at some alpinestars stuff but i have no idea how warm they will be. what is everyone wearing? |

| I found for myself that a roadcrafter with a back protector is very difficult to ride a sport bike with. It gets in the way of me looking forward (up) enough due to the bulkiness of the suit. YMMV. I have a very nice firstgear textile that I think would work well down to the 40s. Electric is THE way to go too! I have electric grips and seat. |

| Re: i need some winter jacket advice MMDV (my mileage does vary )
My Bohn back protector hasn't gotten in the way once, that I can remember, and the jacket hardly ever feels bulky (usually when I've been riding a long time and I'm tired)
...but that's why there are lots of companies offering lots of products |

| ahh never heard of it. maybe thats why yours if different. I use the Aerostich Roadcrafter with an Aerostich Back protector. http://www.aerostich.com/isroot....d1.html
My buddy has a darien and he has a similar problem with his back protector. You may have a longer torso so you dont get into this problem... |

| Re: i need some winter jacket advice i say leather for winter ... u need something thats not porous
i have an Alpine Stars leather jacket with the shoulder and arm protection inside and i usually just run a t shirt or a thin long sleeve shirt under it
my winter gloves are Alpine Star gore tex and leather with carbon knuckes and they have some kinda soft wool like lining in them and the wrist are very long so they cover the end of the sleeve on your jacket and no air gets in
throw on my armed robber hood with the long neck that i stuff down in my jacket and im good to go all day in low 30 degree weather |
