Re: Need a new fuel jug....

My ancient track jug developed a nice split in it....

It wasn't a particularly good one for bike use anyway, t was left over from my car racing days...not exactly easy to pour, and needed an extra funnel...

Looking for one that's easier to use with bikes, and ties down easy. Have seen a couple in the pits that look better, but can't seem to locate them online....

Any help appreciated....
Thanks

What's wrong with a plain ol' 5 gallon gas can from Kmart?

Re: Need a new fuel jug....

I bought a Jaz jug and rack from Bradshaw Products . *I've got the rack mounted on the tongue of the trailer...it works great. *And best of all, the jug and funnel don't leak! *

Wonder why they charge more depending on the color?

Does race gas eat styrofoam? I know avgas doesn't...pump does.

Dunno, wonder why avgas doesn't, maybe it's all the additives in pump gas that eats it up.

Avjet fuel does not contain many of the petroleum distillates present in gas. It also has a flame point that is much less than gas.

Still trying to figure out what possessed someone to pour fuel of any sort in a styrofoam container. Make sandwich bag bombs if you are that bored.

Re: Need a new fuel jug....

I poured some gas in a styro cup at the sand dunes once to clean out a dirtbike carb when I first found out. My bike was about 30 feet away from the gas can so I just poured it in....it didn't make it to the bike

Re: Need a new fuel jug....

Whats wrong with a $8.00 gas can from you local auto parts store (or Kmart like ND4 said)? Get the one that you pull the fill neck through the cap though, neater than the corrugated ones you have to take apart and put back together to use.

I must have a 'good' cheap one! It only leaks if I don't pull it out the nozzle good.

Seriously, are that not legal at some tracks?

Yes...but I think it has less to do with safety....and more to do with the contingency money that Jaz and VF shell out...

Re: Need a new fuel jug....

I just recently saw some real similiar to the Jaz but with two handles. One in the traditional position and one in the vertical corner to the jug. That way you don't have to put your hand undet the jug when your pouring and risk getting gas over your hands. Dunno if these are the exact ones I saw or not but this is the idea...
