Re: Last couple of purchases for the HOOT

The last two pieces of 'kit' I've just purchased for the big trip:

Quick Stand

-and-

Nelson-Rigg UV2000

Yeah, I could have a buddy push the bike while I spray chain wax, but I like the idea of having a nice tool to do it alone and without rolling the bike half a block down the street. *As far as the cover goes, I wasn't going to spend the huge bux for a geza-gear.com trailer-able cover, but this will keep prying eyes (rain and dust too) off my Sargent saddle and Scotts damper while the bike is parked and locked in the bed of my truck at night.

Good golly, I think I'm done! *Now all that's left to do is put together the odds and ends that really don't 'cost' per se, stuff like deodorant and tooth brush, shaving kit, Advil, gloves, rags, chain wax and Honda polish, air pressure gauge and assorted tools, phone charger, etc.

The nice thing about my spending this spring -if I can find a silver lining, lol- is that I won't have to duplicate the expenses next year. *The bike is well modded now (only brake lines left to do), my gear closet is about complete (Cortech pants and Sidi Champions someday down the road), and my ramps are on the way. *Kewl!

According to the reviews, it's a nicely made little piece. I'll give ya an opinion when it comes in.

'parked and locked in the back of my truck at night'? You arent riding out to the Hoot? We are gonna need a good chiropractor when its done but oh well. Where are you staying out there? My buddy did the hotel reservations so Im not sure where we are staying. I think he said the Holiday Inn downtown.

Re: Last couple of purchases for the HOOT

I was going to ride, but since this is my first big bike vacation, my wife didn't like the thought of me doing a thousand miles solo, across foreign territory. She didn't say I couldn't, but because I love her and respect her feelings, I offered to put the bike in the back of the truck and drive down to meet three buddies of mine from Cleveland.

In any event, I'll be at the Clarion on Merchant Center Blvd, about 15 minutes from dowtown Knoxville and within walking distance from a number of eateries and bars. Before the trip, we can swap cell phone numbers via PM.
