| Amber/Yellow High Contrast Helmet Shields I've been seeing alot of these "high contrast" face shields available lately that are supposed to significantly improve night riding. The area I ride in has usually no streetlights or very spread out but still a little traffic so I can't always use my high beams and I'm considering buying one of these shields. Anybody actually use/used one of these that can comment upon it's effectiveness? |

To the OP, maybe you should try adjusting your lights. You might improve where the light is placed. |

| Re: Amber/Yellow High Contrast Helmet Shields @ldavis - I think blinding the cages will just make things worse.
@Ianbrown - good idea, I hadn't thought of that. |

| Re: Amber/Yellow High Contrast Helmet Shields I use to use the yellow lenses in my MX goggles when it was over cast. It would make the edges of the whoops and ruts stick out so you could see them better in the low light situation. I've also heard they use them for skiing for the same purpose to make the moguls(SP?) stand out and more visible. I don't think they would work very well with headlights pointing at you though because it would intensify the light. It sounds like you are talking about something more like the Blu-Blocker glasses, but in a shield for your helmet. |

| Re: Amber/Yellow High Contrast Helmet Shields i think more for looks than being practicaly usable on the street...personaly, i use a clear shield and just wear sunglasses...never know when you might be out late and don't want to tag along a shield to swap out at night. |

It really sucks to ride the back roads here at night as there is no street lights and if you have the tinted visor on you might as well close your eyes. |

| Re: Amber/Yellow High Contrast Helmet Shields If there is a chance I will be caught riding when the sun goes down, I will wear my HLC FS10 helmet. Clear outer with a tinted flip down inner. |
