Here is the review as promised. (picture
here) That's not a watermark - they actually have ICONMOTORSPORTS down the side

. I also attached some pictures of me in them - sorry for the bad quality, no one was home and I had to snap the picture myself with my phone.
Okay - got the jeans today and tried them on. Everything I read online said that Icon sizes run a bit small (for their jeans) and to order a size larger, so I did.
Me: I am a 6'2" male, weighing ~172 pounds. I usually wear size 32/34 (waist/inseam) jeans, which fit great. The Hooligans I ordered are a size "34" waist, and they fit exactly like a normal size 32 waist - so if you buy some order one size up.
Comfort: The jeans are really comfortable, and they don't ride up where they shouldn't (crotch, outer hips, etc). The fabric feels lightweight enough to be comfy, and the ventilation panels work great, just like they're supposed to. Overall I'd say good job on the comfort. The ventilation slots are right where they're supposed to be. The denim on the knees overhangs the Spandex (or whatever that fabric is) a little bit, so it creates a sort of cup while riding - very nice.
Construction/Features: The jeans supposedly have Aramid (kevlar) enforced knees, and I checked and they sure do. The reinforced knee section wraps around the outer leg and hangs low enough that it covers your knees when you are in a crouch position (most sport bike riding styles). They do
not provide any extra padding whatsoever - it is strictly for road rash protection. Also there is no way to insert knee-pads - you'll have to wear them over or under the jeans. To their credit though they have enough space that you could easily fit knee pads under them. The sides start at the top of the hip and run to down to just above the knee. The sides are not Aramid, but they
are double-layer denim. I would describe the overall thickness of the denim "a little thicker than usual" but not super heavy duty. Construction is a 8/10.
Style: Well...

What can I say. They don't look
too bad - certainly better than leathers, but you definitely aren't going to be winning any fashion contests in these. The denim is a nice color, and the breathing panels aren't too tacky looking, but the huge logo on the right-rear pocket and the big ICONMOTORSPORTS down the sides looks a little goofy. They aren't too horrible, and you'll look mostly normal, if a little goofy. I'd say a 7 out of 10, as far as riding apparel goes. I personally like the look of them.
Price: I paid $110 for mine from RevZilla Motorsports, which seemed to be the only price they can be had at. It took them an entire week to ship, but when it did ship they showed up the next day.
Final thoughts: Overall, I'm pretty pleased with them. They look pretty good (I don't mind the 'billboard' look although some might), fit well (order +1 size), and are comfortable and breathable. And I feel a little safer than just regular old jeans.
Since I live in Phoenix, one thing I am concerned with is the heat. It gets
miserable on a bike if it's over 100 degrees. Tolerable when moving, but pure agony at a stoplight. These jeans breath well enough that it honestly feels almost like I'm wearing shorts - no joke. So that's a plus for them.
My only complaints are:
1. No slots for knee-pads.
2. The denim is a little light. It's definitely heavier than normal jeans, but not "super heavy" like I would've liked.
3. Maybe tone down the logo'ing, it's a little much unless maybe you're an 18 year old kid who wants that punk look. However, I'm 23 and I like them, so take it for what its worth.
There you have it - the Icon Hooligan jeans. I'm satisfied - I may snag another pair if the need ever arises.
