| LEATHERS TOO TIGHT In need of some expert advice please.
After only three years of riding I have just purchased my first pair of leather pants. I got a new jacket as well, as my original one is looking a bit tired.
Whilst in Melbourne for WSBK (Philip Island) I tried some gear on and made my selection as the fit was great, the only problem is when I received my new gear everything was way too tight. (I didn't think to allow for gear being new)
So now my Dainese pants and jacket look great but feel like s_it.
I have worn them a few times to try and stretch them out a bit but the pants are still a bit restrictive to the point where they inhibit movement on the bike.
Is there a product available that I can apply or should I just keep riding and hope that they stretch out like the ones in the shop?
It's been an expensive learning curve.
Any advice would be appreciated. |

| Re: LEATHERS TOO TIGHT Depends on how tight, tight is??? My A-Stars track pants took a while to work into a bit of shape and soften up a bit. Great now tho.

| Re: LEATHERS TOO TIGHT Thanks for the feedback guys.
I have already done what LOOPY LEE says.
It sounds like the obvious answer is to keep wearing them, because after all the same sized gear in the shop fitted me fine.
I just thought there might be a way to fast track the process, and to answer Jazzy's question I tried on, and ultimately ordered a size 48 in both but have since tried on (at another shop) size 50's which felt good. So whilst my gear I have is restrictive I suppose it will just take time for them to stretch out.
That's what the bike shop keeps telling me anyway..........
At the end of the day it is you riders that I have to trust the most. |

At the end of the day it is you riders that I have to trust the most. | One of my mates bought some new leathers once and was complaining about the same thing, to tight, so I suggested I wear them for a while as I am abit stockier than he, and presto it fast tracked the stretching period. Only a few days on the bike was needed and he was happy as a pig in poo, so was I when I gave them back.
