| Re: Lap Timers Which one and where to get them? I do not have one, but saw a good review in a magazine on THOSE . You can add temp sensor, RPM, shift light….. Some tracks already have the sensor installed, they have a complete listing of them on the site (mostly go-cart track though). I think they are pretty expensive…. |

| Re: Lap Timers Which one and where to get them? Best bang for the buck by far is the XT Racing lap timer. It keeps track of session information, has an "auto-on" feature (I use that a lot), you can pull down the info onto your computer and export it to Excel down the road, etc. I had a MyChron Lite and sold it in favor of the XT Racing timer. Another plus of the XT is the fact that it will work off of the MyChron beacon.
If you are going after advanced functionality then MyChron makes some better timers out there (multiple temp sensors, RPM, etc). It can completely replace your stock display. However, they are pricey ($400 and up) and if you crash the front end then they typically get destroyed. I have a friend who picked up a MyChron 3 (I think that was the model) and got to use it for 1 weekend before he lowsided, took someone out, and destroyed the timer. $400 down the tubes...
BTW, my XT timer was in a 100MPH lowside tumble and a 60MPH high side and came out without a scratch. The MyChron has a plastic case where the XT is housed in aluminum. The XT is virtually bulletproof.
It also runs off standard AA batteries where the MyChron Lite runs off watch batteries. |

| Re: Lap Timers Which one and where to get them? I have an XT also. The earlier units had some issues with the batteries losing connection. They replaced my unit under warranty, good customer service. I think the new ones have one AA battery. They kept changing battery configurations. Mine calls for two AAAs. I forget where I got mine, I think it was from XTracing. Sportbike Track Time sells them, too, to their members. |

| Re: Lap Timers Which one and where to get them? Ultra Lap testimonial: I sent my bike cartwheeling last season, everything up front was smashed (the whole bike was pretty much destroyed). The LCD display on the lap timer was cracked and unreadable. I contacted XT and they quickly repaired it for $20. Great customer service!! I think I got mine from Kneedraggers also. |

Thanks,
Chris | Another vote for XT. They're very user friendly, bulletproof, and the readout is easy to see at a glance.

| Re: Lap Timers Which one and where to get them? Well XT's seem to be the way to go. DWC isnt quite ready to buy yet... Penske, Racetech, 2 pairs of Michelens, warmers etc, have kinda tapped him dry for the moment, but he'll give Sinnister a call when he decides to buy.
Thanks all,
Chris |

| Re: Lap Timers Which one and where to get them? can you download times to pc with all models (xt)? .....I know someone who has one and never used it but I don't want if I can't pull my times off of it.
Or is it the older models are rs232 instead of USB?

Thanks all,
Chris | Niner: I have a Penske (2 way) RC51 shock setup for a 230 lb rider in excellent condition that you may be interested in at a very decent price. PM me if you're interested.
