GP Shift 929??

Any of you guys run GP on the 929/954? I heard you can use the shifter from the VFR800 for GP...any truth in this?

Thanks in advance!

Re: GP Shift 929??

You can change to race pattern on an RC using the VFR/Blackbird lever; I think it is the same on the 929/954. I like race pattern a lot better myself.

Yep, but the XX and other VFR/RC30/RC45 shifters will work as well.

Re: GP Shift 929??

Many others have used the VFR800 shift lever to run a GP shift pattern. It's an easy and cheap mod to do.

Sure it does. Just imagine how slow I was BEFORE race pattern shifting...

Re: GP Shift 929??

How many racers use the regular shift pattern? I've never been on a bike with Gp shift pattern, does it make a big difference?

I rode regular all last season...this past week I rode a freinds bike with GP...and I must say it is much more natural for me.

Re: GP Shift 929??

Does anyone know of any AMA, WSB, MotoGp riders who ride regular shift, I try and find them but it seems like everyone ride reverse pattern. I guess I'm just going to have to try it.

I think Mladin shifts standard because of an ankle injury if I remember correctly. It makes more sense to shift race pattern to me since you probably shift up in a corner more often than you downshift (unless you're fond of highsides) and you'd rather have your foot on top for ground clearance.

Re: GP Shift 929??

Good point with the shifting exiting corners, I guess the next set of rearsets I get will have to be race pattern.
