SV Racebike Suspension Help Needed...

While racing last weekend with OMRRA, I was getting a horrible oscilation (head shake) coming down the front strait at PIR. I tried adjusting my the Scotts to no avail. The oscilation would start about 2/3 down the strait in 6th gear wide open. The little SV can't go any faster at the point that I would get head shake. At first I thought it was me holding on too tight, but that proved not to be the case. The line I was on was smooth, so I didn't blame the track. Was hoping that some of you guys might have some suggestions on the cause and fix it. It did get a little worrisome at times and caused me to roll off a lot early to get it under control before hitting turn 1.

Any suggestions appreciated.

Re: SV Racebike Suspension Help Needed...

It could be due to a combination of things including:

Tire profile
Under damped compression and or rebound
Wrong tension springs at either end
Bent fork tube
Bad balance or bad/out of round tire
Bad front wheel bearing
Single brake pad dragging

Try reviewing all of the above and see what happens . . .

Re: SV Racebike Suspension Help Needed...

Thanks Abtech, I'll start checking through the list of things. Having said that, I'm affraid it might be the fork tube as you suggest due to my highside last year.
