| AFM buttonwillow crash (vid) Edit: I changed the filename and re-posted it...
Here is the Mpeg-4 codec for those who need it: http://www.3ivx.com/download/windows.html
This is my friend that I traveled with to Buttonwillow. He made it through the new racer school with me and then during the practice session he hit "the bump" on the front straightaway that everyone talks about. Without a steering damper, he went into a tank slapper and got pitched at 120mph. He only suffered a bruised butt and a crunched thumb where the handle bar hit the tank. He was on a 600rr. For a more detailed story, see my write up on the race weekend at this thread. My first AFM race. (LONG!!!)

| Re: AFM buttonwillow crash (vid) Yikes, pretty fast crash. Can't see the slapper but you can hear the engine "warble" from the changing load. |

| Re: AFM buttonwillow crash (vid) Right click the file and select "rename" to change it from "xxxx.txt" to "xxxx.mp4".
If you can't see the file extension (.txt), navigate to the file with Win Explorer, click on Tools, Folder Options, the View tab, and de-select the box that says "Hide file extensions for known file types". Then you can see and rename the extension. |

Man, that bike looks like it's junk. Glad he's basically OK, that could'a been a lot worse!

| Re: AFM buttonwillow crash (vid) Yeah, the bike tumbled end over end so the shopping list is:
Forks (with Lindeman work)
Front wheel+rotors
Clip ons+controls
Brake reservoir
Gauges
Fairings
Subframe
Footpeg
Exhaust can
Tank cover
(steering damper!!!)
Believe it or not, with a lot of effort, money, and E-bay he will have all the parts by this Monday and be riding at T-hill this coming Wednesday with me. Wednesday will be exactly 1 month from the crash.

I hope it's okay. After that crash he will be going pretty slow for a while anyway I'm sure. |

| Re: AFM buttonwillow crash (vid) Rename it to MPG and it will allow you to attach it. But, it must be 2megs or less. |

Thanks Conq! I didn't know you could do that...
But I think you still need the codec to run the video.

| Re: AFM buttonwillow crash (vid) Seems like he'd check the frame before spending all that $$ on replacement parts. Especially since we have the The Frame Man so close by. |

He does live in Redding but that's still not too far away. It's definitely not 2000 dollars away from Sacramento. |

| Re: AFM buttonwillow crash (vid) I dont' mean to hijack the thread, but everyone should give VLC Player 's player a try. It is a freeware open source project, and as far as I know, no spyware, etc.
It is an amazing player which virtually eliminates the need to install any codecs. It works very well even on a low end system like a P3-500.
