| How do I properly wiegh a race bike? I'm reworking the forks on a 89 Honda Hawk. It has a Rotax motor which reduces the wieght by about 100 lbs.
I need a reliable way to wiegh the bike for total wieght and front rear propotional wieght.
Can anyone help me out?

| Re: How do I properly wiegh a race bike? You can take the bike to a drag strip or a truck station that has scales for trucks to find out total weight. |

| Re: How do I properly wiegh a race bike? Nedro: You can weigh the front wheel, and add it to the weight of the rear wheel (that's the way the magazines do it). This also gives you the front to rear bias. To make it exactly correct, several people put the wheel that isn't on the scale on a block or something that is the same height as the scale.
You can also go to a CO-OP if you have one nearby or a moving and storage facility or the freight terminal at the airport. Just roll each wheel onto the scale and add them together for the total. If you have access to a large scale like at the freight terminal or CO-OP, then you can verify the "one wheel at a time" technique by double checking the total against the total found with the entire bike on the scale.

Almost all work was performed by my cousins in their little 6'x8' shop on the side of their house that they affectionately call, "The Factory."
