Lap Timer Equipment - Where to mount?

I searched on this topic and found some pics for the 954, but I remember someone had their XT racing lap timer mounted on a 929 in a good location (with wire ties?) Can't find the post now (it was over a year ago)

I have the timer with the 6' cable so the receiver end can be mounted on the tail. When mounting on the tail, where do you guys normally run the cord? I might just coil up the cord and mount it on the front on the heat shield...

Need ideas and pictures if you have any...

Thanks in advance

Damn man, you're like a machine! I posted less than 2 minutes ago

I remember seeing these pics... I think I'll "borrow" this design, it looks like it will work really well.

Thanks

I like that mount, Red. I just cut off a piece of sticky velcro and slap it over the speedo. Then I pull it off and toss it when I'm done with the weekend. But I like your method better because you can still see all the guages.

Re: Lap Timer Equipment - Where to mount?

The mount was designed and built by a fellow .orger. It works well and can be used for mounting a GPS, garage door opener, or radar detector if you want.

The engraving adds a nice touch!

Re: Lap Timer Equipment - Where to mount?

How about a stem stand?

I think my steering damper is in the way though... but these guys have bar mounts too. Seems like overkill. I think I'll go with Zippy's method for now until I start feeling "American Chopper" and fabricate a bracket
