| WSMC this weekend (Updated with some good & bad) OK I'm going to put my knee down this weekend. I gotta get over my fear of my last crash that knocked me out. The race last weekend at ButtonWillow I got my A$$ kicked finishing 19th out of 23 racers my worst showing ever. I will be racing the 250gp,GP-GT, & maybe F2. Will report my outing on Monday. Also I think I worked out all the bugs with the video camera so I might have some race footage.

| Re: WSMC this weekend First the Good...Gordon managed to beat the heat and Ruff it out for a 2nd place finish in his Solo GP race!! Everyone was really pumped about his finish given the circumstances (broken thumb & 100+ degrees heat ) |

| Re: WSMC this weekend Now some Bad......Me & G-force were sitting in the stands anticipating the the start of Codered's race. It was about a 13 bike field with some really fast guys(John Ulrich, Mark Watts etc.) We knew if he could just get a good start, then he'd be able to battle for a podium. The flag drops and Codered is still at Start finish.. He blows the start....again!!! He gets going and starts to make up time on the field. He passes one rider and shortly after, seems to start slowing down. The rider comes back by a lap later and as codered goes by, I see him shaking his head. I notice his laptime is WAY down. Me & G-force shake our heads and figure he has a mechanical problem. Another lap goes by and we can see that he's just trying to nurse the bike home for a finish. White flag is shown....we're waiting for Codered to come down the front straight.....I look at the laptimer he should be coming by any second? Then all of sudden we see the red flag come out........... |

Good story, but the fact that this is a real person seems to be in bad taste.
How is he? coderedcbr, hope all is well.

| Re: What Happened Preliminary results of examination show a broken left collarbone, a nice bump on the head and some other miscilleneous aches and pains. He was released the same day and is home resting. He has a follow up with his primary Dr. for another look over. He's in a good spirit and seemed more concerned with damage to his bike ( A True Racer! ) I didn't get a pic of the bike but the damage wasn't too significant:
Bent both wheels
Possible radiator puncture
both foot lever twisted like cinnimon rolls
Bent exhausts
Bent subframe
and some other odds and ends.
I'm sure once he comes down from his pain killer buzz, he'll chime in with more details. |

HD | No one's playing soap opera!! The fact is I'm at work right now so I'm posting as quick as I can. Gordon knows I'm posting this. And if you knew me, you'd know this is not in bad taste. I posted it the way Gordon would want me too. Whats done is done so why post some morbid information for him to come and look at? I understand where you're coming from but you have it all wrong! |

| Re: WSMC this weekend (Updated with some good & bad) OK it took me an half an hour to get out of bed and to the computer. I'm doing ok the wife is here helping me out. I got a bad start and pushed as hard as I could. I was having some mechanical problems but the bike was running. I thought I could just bring it home. It seemed that the motor seized up, locking up the rear wheel in turn 8, the fastest part of the course, throwing me for a "high-side". I'm doing okay, just a little frustrated. The good thing is the wife is waiting on me hand and foot - in fact she typed this for me. So I guess I will have to buy her that Mercedes (with the trailer hitch for the toolbox) Careful kids don't try this at home! |

| Re: WSMC this weekend (Updated with some good & bad) DOH! Get well soon, the first 2 weeks are the worse. Good idea having your DR look you over, when I demolished my collarbone, the dr a AV was like "No big deal, let it heal and don;t move it." When my Ortho saw the x rays he was "Wow, you did that in good, I've only seen one worse, and that guy was inthe hospital for a month after getting ejected from a flipped over truck." |

| Re: WSMC this weekend (Updated with some good & bad) Glad you're not in worse condition especially after viewing the gurney shot!
Sorry it happened (ain't highsiding a bitch!). Did the engine give you any indication that it was ready to squeak before it happened? Was it a crank seizure or piston (don't know if anyone has had a chance to look as of yet)?
Heal up, tell your wife she needs a BMW instead of the Mercedes and start on your parts list |
