| 3rd place with Busa last night Well, since my blade is down, I borrowed my buddies 02 Busa to bracket race last night. My blade is quicker from the line to finish, (which I knew)...lighter and I hit the 60' mark quicker. I was surprised by the way I was so consistant with it, being the first time I really rode a busa, and at that, I took it to the strip. My times on the blade are consistant 6.40's, and on the busa I ran 6.65 best, 6.66; 6.67; 6.69; 6.72; and 6.89 on the brakes....My runs on the blade I run 111-113, and on the busa I ran 109 every pass except the 6.89, crossed the traps at a whopping 88. (I was footshifting and the busa is stock all except full yoshimira).
The busa seems to have more pulling power, especially from 5k up...but the blade is just more gradual and smooth. I liked the busa, but love the blade!!

| Re: 3rd place with Busa last night Yeah, that's what I'd like to know. Don't you have NOS on your 954? I guess it's curious that you're quicker on a less powerful machine, but familiarity could play something of a role here too. |

| Re: 3rd place with Busa last night It is not because a bike is more powerful that it will be quicker on a short distance |

I've beat all but 1 stock busa in the 1/8th, in the 1/4, its a different story. My blade (had) a 5" extension, and NOS, but on motor I can run 6.42......and 6.20's-6.30's on spray. I should be down to the low 6.0-6.10's when I get my motor and transmission back. Hopefully 6.20's on motor. The blade is quicker off the line (with me riding both) than the busa. Plus my mph is faster on the blade. 112 avg to my 109 on the busa. |
