Here's an interesting article on San Diego PD's attempt to reach out to area drag racers (I see the Team Sheriff Racing program initially began life on the quarter mile).

I would love to see a program like this here in Omaha.

If anyone's in the SD area you should swing by some time and check it out. It's really cool what they've done. I wish Tucson had the same thing, then when I go out on the weekends the cops wouldn't pull me over just cause I'm on a sportbike. We have a severe problem with guys here in town taunting the cops to chase them and running. No matter who you are cops in Tucson are out to get you if you ride a sportbike because of these dicks.
