#1 | | | First race WSMC Middleweight Novice 12-19-04 Went to Willow Springs today for my first roadrace ever. I was gridded number 14 out of 21 I believe. Race was stopped after 1/4 lap due to someone crashing into the wall in turn 4. We restarted with only 4 laps, and I got off slow, but managed to get near the front quickly. after a couple laps, I finally got around a track hog, and went for the leaders, but just couldn't get it done in time. I ended up in fourth place, and had a blast! Can't believe how intense the first few laps are in a 600 novice race with everyone scrambling like mad dogs, lol.
Gearing my bike 1-down in the front, and 2-up in the rear made a huge difference. Great power, just need to get used to it now.
Thanks to CBR Riding Fool for being the pit boss! Good to see Latebraking, & Codered again!
This wannabe racer is going to bed a tired, and fulfilled old man.
Caio,
SPEED. | |

| Re: First race WSMC Middleweight Novice 12-19-04 Congratulations on finishing your first race. Why only one race?? Why only 4 laps??--thats kind of lame--tough to get thru the pack in 4 laps.

You need to tighten up that line from 3 to 4. Next month just watch the faster guys going up the hill you will see what I am talking about. Good job |

We were the last race of the day, would have been cool to get the full 6 laps in.
I made a couple mistakes.....turned in too early for 6, had to back off and adjust , then another time I had the rear step out pretty good from too much throttle input in 6 going over the hump .
Codered, I got ya bro....I need a full track day to devote mostly to just 8-9, & 3-4 soon.
Thanks for the congrats guys! My friend got 3rd place, and was filming the race, I'll post up the link when he get's it up .

CBR Riding Fool clocked me with a stopwatch: 1:34, 1:32, 1:30 ...couldn't get the last lap though.
