Need recommendations on race body painters in the midwest

Anyone know of or can "vouch" for some people that do good work? Not looking for a show job but don't want it to look like crap either. Hoping to find something in the middle as far as price vs. quality. I've talked to a few folks on the WERA forum and have some leads but just need the org's perspective before I make a move. You guys never steer me wrong so any help appreciated.

A good fiberglass painter in Illinois would be frickin' ideal!!

Sorry I can't help. I probably going to have my dad shoot my paint.

Hey no problem, I was actually considering hitting up a local auto-body shop and just see what they say just out of curiousity.

I know it's not Illinois, but these guys are very good http://www.nelsonsinc.com
from their site: http://www.nelsonsinc.com/images/cbr_dave.jpg

Ask for Gordie or John . . . (edit: Dave isn't painting any longer).

Looks like a good job. I'll call and give them a shot, hopefully the price is fair. Need to get a hold of some vinyl as well..

You're up around Chicago? There was a place called Speed Limit somewhere up there that did a lot of sportbike custom painting. Used to see their stuff all the time at the Chicago show.

I'm a little more in the boonies now but yeah, still relatively close to Chi-town. I've heard of Speed Limit and seen 'em at the shows too but thought they did custom work only? Heard anything good about Albrecht's? I get conflicting reports on that place, some people say they're great others say it's a ripoff?

It just sucks that some places I inquired wanted more to paint the glass than what I paid for it!
