| 675 triples are lightweight supersports... I was just looking through the CCS rules since I will hopefully be able to get back into the occasional race and saw that liquid cooled three cylinder engines up to 675 cc are classified in the lightweight class. Wow... I think I would much rather race the Triumph daytona 675 in that class than the SV650... hmm 110ish HP vs 60ish? Am I missing something? Or will this be the end of the SV as the dominant lightweight bike? Here is the reference to where I saw the rule... http://www.ccsracing.com/forms/2006/...acer%20Pkg.pdf |

| Re: 675 triples are lightweight supersports... Total BS. It's bad enough we had to run against the Buells too. An '03 or up SV puts out around 70 HP bone stock. I think with my full M4 system I'm probably around 74.

They may have to change that if all the SV riders start getting wiped out by any yahoo on a daytona... |

I tell ya, my plan was to get a ZX-10R for street and fun track days and then pick up a used track/race R6 or maybe sv-650 as a pure track race bike, but now I am tempted to get the 675... it may have to wait another year tho... make sure it doesn't have major first gen flaws and hopefully some better colors the next year I think black would be swell

| Re: 675 triples are lightweight supersports... Triumph's first middleweight (TT600) looked like a CBR600F4. This one looks like an R6. Their engines may be unique but their bodywork sure isn't.

They also appear to be ridiculously narrow. |

| Re: 675 triples are lightweight supersports... Well, the not finalized CCS rulebook doesn't list any triples for LW supersport. But the "racer packet" on their site still lists triples up to 675cc under LW... First races in March I think so they still have time to sort it out. Anybody know what their local org is doing? I haven't checked WERA's site... |

Best source for current info. You can also try to contact Kevin Elliott or Eric Kelcher. I really doubt they end up letting it run in LW. (They shouldn't.)
