Re: Zoltman racing ride report 4/29/06

No report on your Xrays? Everytime I've been shot with the cancermakers the doc has them and checks them out right quick.
Glad you're feeling better, but I hear there is a bathouse going in that can pamper you to get you back to 100%.

Did you get a Brembo master?

Re: Zoltman racing ride report 4/29/06

The doc is a buddy of mine, so I just went to the local hospital to get shot. They said 3-5 days before the results come back

I got an OEM master. It was $30 shipped. Couldn't pass that up. The wanted mod list is slowly growing for next winter so we'll see what that brings. I'm sure there will be tons of race bikes being parted out again this year.

Rub some dirt on it and get back in the game.

I believe it's 28' at it's widest. The motorcycle racing line is roughly 3-4' wide at best pretty much anywhere on the track. You can take a different line but it's VERY bumpy - almost pothole like in some places. Moreso than the racing line. Not the best pavement/facility by any means. But it's only an hour drive.

Wow. I guess it would make you learn how to pick lines and stay on them, though.

28' at the widest The tire pile wall looked pretty hazardous also. Can't see that as a track for me to graze

They're slowly starting to move parts of it further back from the track. Some people say there's plenty of runoff. I tend to disagree. There's only about two places one *needs* to brake around this track...the rest of the time you should be on the throttle. Those walls seem awfully close when you're headed for the grass.

And regardless of what someone says, it hasn't really changed in over 30 years. The last time I was there (late 70's) I broke both wheels passing someone on the straight and hitting a friggin 3' wide pothole.

Don't even ask about the bathrooms . . .

Actually, it has...believe it or not. There are showers, the toilets flush, and they're actually making some sort of a mild effort at patching the holes. They recently repaved about half of the carousel and have put down fresh patches in turns 1, 2 and 12. They're still bumpy, and I'm pretty confident that one of these patches is what my rear tire spun up on, but it is getting better. When I was getting race fuel, the guy that filled my can asked me what I thought of the track and what part of it is the worst, etc. I told him to repave the whole thing According to the guy they've recently acquired some new contracts from various gov't agencies for training and WERA is doing a few more races there this year so as long as the business keeps coming in they plan to repave the track within the next 5 years. I won't hold my breath, but I hope it happens.

Holy crap. That place makes Spokane look like Qatar for safety and runoff area.

I hope your shoulder feels better soon, and that the x-rays turn up nothing of significance.

You snobby west coasters....

It's not that bad. Biggest issue I see is runoff in T1 and T2 as well as the carousel.

Added pics of damage to first post.

Few more my parents took in the pits... The third pic gives a better perspective of T12.

In the last pic where in front of the truck accross the street is a pole...That's about the part of the corner I dumped it in and then slid all the way to about where the green EZ up is in the right part of the picture.
