| Video from the "Parking lot" This video was shot a couple of weeks ago at Firebird's West track in about 100F. K9inAZ is the guy who filmed the video and I am the guy he is chasing in red. Please refrain from comments like "how come you're going so slow" especially, if you have never been on a racetrack. These type of comments are not really confidence building. I will say that I'm always open to tips, help, suggestions, and anything else that can make me faster, feel free. |

(kidding, and you knew that had to happen, didn't you?)
Looks like you're having fun and getting better. That's all that really matters anyway.
Ah the memories of the death trap track. I've seen four or five take the helo out of there on that track. Have you ever run it the other direction? I had two very hairy moments running it the other way. That short chute where the pit in/out hill is where you're going right and the other way would go left (that red EZ-up canopy corner station) - I stood the bike on its nose with the rear ~3ft up (depending on which eyewitness account) due to a jackoff that tried to cut past me, but couldn't hold his line on the brakes, but rode it out - although I pissed myself.
Then during a different race, the D-shaped carousel section that would be right after that turning right (where you're going left - and before that corner) I had a serious highsidecoming out of. That one hurt.
Anyway, good times. The direction you were going is safer than the other way by far.
The east track is more of a parking lot though, IMO.
I remember one race there when Mark caused a red flag on the second to last corner (right to the short straight before the hard right back to start/finish straight) and ended up in the gravel trap. They actually stalled the restart long enough for him to get out and cleaned up, then gridded him back on the front row.
They liked to break rules for him. Maybe they still do, I don't know. |

The only thing I got for ya is your head position, get down and into the turn. Your spine shouldn't be twisted like it was.
Otherwise, sahweet. Especially the music. |

I thought it was a GREAT video. Looks like you had a lot of fun. I wish I could get on a track once in a while. I might mess up my bike....no....I WOULD mess up my bike.

| Re: Video from the "Parking lot" Very nice! Lookin' good. Was it my imagination, or did you start going faster and taking better lines after the speedy dude passed you? I know I tend to push a little harder after someone goes by me (rare, but it does happen ). |
