| Re: MAM/TrackAddix Memorial Day IT IS AAALLLIIIVVVEEEEE!!! Got the crash truck queen up and running today. Had a few tense moments, but it is purring once again with no water in the oil, no leaks, all systems normal, and I can hardly wait. Baring an act of God looks like MAM is a go for Memorial Day. |

They do work on the wife (6'2"), but I think you're a couple inches taller?

| Re: MAM/TrackAddix Memorial Day Made it through safe and sound. Although the first couple of sessions there were plenty of thoughts going through my mind like "hmmm...did I get every thing back on/in right and tight." Not the type of thinking condusive to hitting your brake markers. Plus the fact that I just got the bike running the weekend before and only had a test run up and down the block in front of the house. But those demons were gone by lunch and the bike ran great.
Then there was the asshole that went into turn 3 with me side by side and clipped my front tire on the exit toward 4. "Ok, butt head, so you're faster than me that doesn't mean you have to take me out!" However, to his credit he did find me in the paddock later and apologize.
Muscles are reminding me today how old I am, but I can't wait to do it again.
Tigerblade, I got your voicemail but DJChyk didn't come with me and my phone battery was low so I wasn't checking messages often. Hopefully we'll all meet up at Grattan. |

| Re: MAM/TrackAddix Memorial Day Yeah, sorry we didn't make connections. Good news is that my buddy won his first motorcycle race. And his second, and his third. Good weekend for him!

| Re: MAM/TrackAddix Memorial Day Great to hear your friend did so well. Sounds like you had a nice weekend. Only the second time for me at MAM and I enjoyed it much better than last year. I met a friend, Jeff Kramer, who raced WERA several years out of St. Louis and he showed me some good lines around the track. TrackAddix had 3 groups which made the traffic managable until later in the afternoon when they combined them into 2. Don't understand why they do that. The traffic was just too much and some people were making bone head passes...like my turn 3 buddy. |

My wife and I were good friends with Jeff throughout his time at GLRRA. He has an interesting manner of speech and earned the nickname "EE-OR" (from Winnie the Pooh) when we knew him . . .
If you see him again, say HI from Frank and Jacki. |

| Re: MAM/TrackAddix Memorial Day The wind was what kept me from coming down there to watch. I could only take 30 miles and knew I didn't want to fight it for another 5 hours riding. Perhaps it wasn't too bad at the track.
Glad to hear you had a good time! |

| Re: MAM/TrackAddix Memorial Day Yeah....Jeff is fast as HELL. I'm assuming we're talking about the same Jeff....he holds the track record at Gateway. He raced that weekend and then stuck around for the practice sessions Monday. He was hands down the fastest guy out there. We were talking about all the tracks we've been to. He commented on the "jump" at Grattan.
The wind was not half as bad as it was Sunday....in fact it turned out to be a very nice day.

I do have my race plastics and tire warmers back in my own garage...
