My First Race

Wow, we (my dad and I) had a great time at our first race weekend! Trackdays are fun, but raceing is definately where it's at . It was the memorial weekend event at MAM.

My first race, LW SS, started out great, but I was very confused when the ambulance was out on the track. I was running in third, and when I saw the ambulance on the track, They were showing a white flag (no cross) So I thought they were ending the race early and I had one lap left. After that lap I started slowing down, and was passed by two riders still going race pace. So, very confused, I sped up again and ended up 5th. Not bad for my first race, but I should have been on the podium. Incidentaly, my dad was the reason the ambulance was out. He was running in third when he went down exiting turn 3 on the inside where he went into the dirt, and the rider behind him collided with his bike and also went down. They were both alright though, so that is good. It was definatley wierd going into turn 7 and riding past an ambulance at full lean .

Then next race, LW SB, I was running in fourth and I only had one lap left, and my brain just shut off. I didn't realize I only had one lap left. I couldn't concentrate on anything, and kept running off the track, so I decided I better get off the track. I was out of it, probably due to being in the sun too long.

Definately learned a few things, and I can't wait to do it again! I'm hoping to do the next CRA event at brainerd.

I posted a few pics from the weekend on photobucket. http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v4...MAM%205-28-06/

I'm #515, and the old man is #516.

Re: My First Race

Nice post. I'd love to chase my old man around the track, but he's convinced that I'm going to die any sec now.
