SV650 races - NEW to the game, need some advise :)

Hey guys.

Just bought a 2005 SV650 for the tracks.
I want to run it stock...so I was wondering which
classes would I look to race in.

Ones, preferably where I'd be racing against similar
machines so that I won't be BLOWN past and
lapped after 4 laps.

I'm moving out to California. (LA area) So any club that
races in the vicinity.

So, if anyone can lend a few words of wisdom, I'd be
forever grateful. I thought California was the place to be
but I see WERA, CSS, etc have more on the east coast eh?

Maybe I should move back to the east.
Road Atlanta is one of my favorite tracks.

Also, guys and gals...

I read the rule book for WSMC and they say it is a MUST
to have someone at the tracks with me on race days?
How 'bout if I don't have someone who's free?

I'll be new to west coast...so is there a way around this?

Thanks!!!

Cara

Well, you could go by yourself but don’t crash and knock yourself out. I would go on their website and try to set up next to an experienced SV rider. With WSMC it is just 2 tracks Big Willow and Streets. WERA you have CA Speedway, Buttonwillow, Vegas, and Miller. There are a number of classes you can race with both clubs but you can bump up a class with WERA.

Also the most important thing to going fast is being comfortable. A well set up bike underneath you is the key suspension is the first mod I would look at. LP privateer program should have a lot of stuff to make you bike race ready. Good luck. If you have some questions just PM me.
