| Re: CCS 30 min racing? OK I'm going to try the CCS GP lights 30 min race at Streets of Willow this Saturday. *Has any one done this type of racing? GTO, GTU? Do you just ride till you just pass out? *I guess I should get some running in this week. *I never done Streets before any turns to look out for with surface condition? *I can't believe the wife is letting me go racing 3 weekends in a row she must be up to something * I guess I better take advantage before school starts in June. *Thanks for any info. |

| Re: CCS 30 min racing? I like streets quite a bit...A couple areas that the surface is less than perfect.. middle of the track in turn 2, hole on mid to inner of turn 4, turn 11 has some rough stuff and then entering the front straight it's a bit rough. *Most crashes I've seen have been in turn 3 (except roaddog high siding coming out of the chicane )...as it's down hill. *People overload the front and lowslide... *You'll have a great time! |

| Re: CCS 30 min racing? codered,
GT Lights is fun racing and very tiring. The last GT Light I ran was in your neck of the woods *at Firebird East and I placed 6th with 27 laps in. *When I got off the track, my left arm was pumped so bad from being stupid and clutching while upshifting. *When I saw the half way flags, I though to myself that I was probably going to have a stroke before the end of the race. All I can say is keep up a good pace and save a little for the last 5 laps because that's when the real racing starts and is where I lost 5th place (money). *Quite a few people started dragging and you could tell by their riding. It was one *of the funnest races I've done though and you should have a great time.
As far as Streets goes, it's a fun track, but there are some surface conditions that require checking out on your practice laps.
Have fun amigo, I wish I could be there in the mix with you, but I'm going to wait to race for a couple more months I think.

Just realized, that Firebird isn't in your neck of the woods, I thought you were in Phoenix or Tucson for some reason. |

| Re: CCS 30 min racing? When I lived on the east coast, I raced my 125 with CCS. Whenever I went to a new (for me) track, I used GT Lights as a way to get the valuable track time to figure out the good lines, and bike setup. Even after I was familiar with a track, I would enter GT Lights, because I did pretty well in that class.
Just watch out for the diesels, which are plentigul in GT Lights. They take way different lines, brake way too early and park in the corners, so beware and be patient, especially at The Streets. You will be tired at the end of 30 minutes....... |

| Re: CCS 30 min racing? Sounds like fun, Bring plenty of Gatorade and water, it hot up here this week, and hotter up there. If the old fireblades.org is still available, I did a writeup for Asian Image about The Streets, see if you can dig it up. You'll like it on the 125, I like it better than on the 929, fun track.

| Re: CCS 30 min racing? Oh yeah, try 14/40 gearing..... If your gearbox is standard, then 1st may still be a bit tall for turn 4. If that's the case, then just open the throttle sooner, and if you time it right, you'll be on the pipe when you need it. |

| The race is May 31 I don't know why I thought it was this weekend coming up. Thanks for all the info guys. Are you still returning to racing next year Latebraking? I should be an expert by that time so you will have another person to pass out there. |
