Yes I am aware that if I drop it it is going to be exspensive. Hope that doesn't happen soon. (although probable) :-)
denzee. I will list what I have done on the bike.
- Suspension has been re-valved with new springs to suit my weight.
- Power commander
- Quick shifter
- Head flowed and cams degreed
- BMC Filters
Obvious mods:
- Full Arrow system
- Arrow rear sets
- 520 chain conversion & sprocketing for track
- Crash bobbins everywhere
- Carbon clip on's
- GPT Lap timer
- Pazzo Short levers
- Braking disks (330 front)
- Carbone Loraine Race pads
- Braided hoses
- Puig high rise screen
- Carbon rear hugger
We will get the bike on the dyno in the next week.
I am quite interested to see what she will make compared to standard. |

But damn fine job |

| Re: Newly built track bike. '05 CBR1000RR (pics) I have done a few track days in the last few months.
A photo of me at Kyalami track in Gauteng.
Haven't dumped it yet and it is going like a rocket.

| Re: Newly built track bike. '05 CBR1000RR (pics) Looks too good to be a track bike Nawtee. I'm sure it won't stay that way if it sees regular track duty. Curious how it sounds with the Arrow GP exhaust? |

| Re: Newly built track bike. '05 CBR1000RR (pics) The bike is a bit loud with the GP-style pipes fitted. They tested is recently and it tested at 117db. Standard pipe CBR1000RR's tested at around 103 db.
She does sound awesome on the track and "pops" nicely on de-acceleration.
I am very happy with the system. It makes good power. |

| Re: Newly built track bike. '05 CBR1000RR (pics) very nice, I LOVE the tail on that bike....soooooo sexy
Did you purchase the tail or make it? If you made it, how much would it cost to get you to make another? |

| Re: Newly built track bike. '05 CBR1000RR (pics) Dice - I like the quickshifter, but when a quickshifter and non-quickshifter bike was tested by a gp rider he only gained something like 0.2 sec per lap. In other words not worth it. The shifts are smooth and direct so I would fit it on my next bike.
James, I made the tailpiece myself. I wouldn't make another but you can start with a standard fiberglass tailpiece, close the bottom up and then cut the tail to fit your pipe. Not a big job, just time consuming. |
