Would be fun to bomb it with some "polite" opinions on this incident...

| Re: (SPOILER!) Daytona 200 Race That three pit strategy was quite genius. Obviously Doyle saw something in practice that proved true with both Mladin and E.Boz.
Had Honda ever done an endurance test in the tire testing, maybe they would have seen it, too. Mladin and E.Boz were running consistent lap times with fresher tires while the Hondas fell off by a few seconds per lap. Too bad.
While seeing that prick win the race sucked, it was nice to see that even with their better strategy they just barely pulled it out. I wish Miggy would have gotten number 12, but it looks like he'll have to wait for another year.
As far as Yates goes, it's too bad. I hope he gets charged, and I hope he ends up paying for the privateer's bike. |

| Re: (SPOILER!) Daytona 200 Race This certainly isn't the first time factory riders have taken out privateers at Daytona and acted like it wasn't their fault. Many of my friends stopped running the CCS stuff after having a factory rider take them out during the races before the 200. It's just track time and testing/warmup for the Pros, while it's points and your life savings if you're a regional racer. A few years ago, one of Muzzy's riders took out 2 CCS riders during practice before the regionals, and the Muzzy rider just got on his number 2 bike and rejoined practice, while both of the other bikes were totaled. When asked about compensation for the privateers, Rob just waved it off and said "that's racing". Well it really isn't "just racing", it's stupid.
Unfortunately, it is risky and you need to assess this prior to entering the race. Now as to the "post crash", that is a different matter entirely, and regardless of who was at fault there is no place for this kind of bull$hit in road racing, professional or otherwise. If I were team manager for Yates, he would be looking for work and without any letter of recommendation . . . |

| Re: (SPOILER!) Daytona 200 Race Yates was definitely a dickwad after taking out that privateer, no doubt. Suspect he'll get fined in a big way. Hope he does, anyway. Even better would be to fine his Yosh Suzuki team and have him sit out several races... see how well his sponsers react to that.
But Mladin is still the #1 Asswipe of all current AMA racers. Sucks moist ass that he won. Dude's a real fũcktard. However, you can't take anything away from his awesome Yoshimura pit crew. Three pits stops, each less than 12-13 seconds.... daaaaaaymn!
I am bummed beyond words about the Bostrom brothers. I was really, really, REALLY pulling for Ben. He was kicking SERIOUS ass until his first pit stop. Damn shame.
The duel between Duhamel and Zemke was cool. Who knows, if Ben hadn't had a mechanical, there might've been three CBR1000's on the podium today. |

| Re: (SPOILER!) Daytona 200 Race I don't have a problem with the AMA smacking him up....but I hope it stays out of the courts. This has been done in other forms of racing, and it never benefits anyone.......

Good article Conq...I, for one, am glad to hear that they are going after Yates legally. He still thinks he did nothing wrong, even after watching the video replay. Just imagine if this was reversed and he was the one kicked...

| Re: (SPOILER!) Daytona 200 Race Be careful what you wish for, you just might get it.
I hope that everyone understands that even if Yates AIMED for the guy and broadsided him, the last thing anyone really wants is legal action regarding what happened on the track. The sanctioning organization is supposed to filter out bad riders (yeh, right especially considering it's the Almighty Myshitdon'tstink Association . . .), but the bottom line is that when you enter any race, you sign a very detailed document surrendering any rights you may have or even thought you might have while attending or participating in the event.
I know the current fashion is to add the term "gross negligence" to any lawsuit these days to circumvent any legal disclaimer you may have signed, but I guarantee you that once racers start suing each other for something that happened on the track, everyone loses in the form of much higher costs for trackdays and races, closed tracks, HP limits etc., etc.
Now as to what happened after the incident, I say hit Yates with assault with intent to do bodily harm and then sue him, Yoshimura, Suzuki, AMA, Dave Despain and everyone else, and then maybe the sponsors and teams may want to watch the signals a bit closer when they have a hothead that can cause potential harm to anyone on the track. |

It's not the action on the track, but off, that needs to be addressed...

I like Miguel a lot and that really surprised me...

| Re: (SPOILER!) Daytona 200 Race While we're all high and mighty about this, let's talk about, I think it was DuHamel, saying he needed to add some Barkbusters (to protect his levers) and just push by privateers.
These guys ALL mistreat and whine about privateers. |

| Re: (SPOILER!) Daytona 200 Race BTW, I wonder if that guy hadn't gotten flung onto Yates' back tire if Yates would even have crashed. I've seen him knock a lot of people off over the years and not go down himself.
