(SPOILER!) Daytona 200 Race

Wow...gotta hand it to Zemke for beating Duhamel at the line to grab second! Great finish for both of them. Gotta give credit to Mladin for his pit strategy...and a couple of lucky breaks probably, too.

Geesh...really. Didn't he take a couple of guys out during a race last year? If I was sponsoring him I'd let him know exactly what I thought of his "professionalism"...

Re: (SPOILER!) Daytona 200 Race

I was left somewhat unsatisfied by the race. It didn't have the excitement and drama I was hoping for.

A big thumbs up for Zemke.
A big thumbs down for Yates.
I'm still not a Mladin fan.
It's good to see Miguel up top too.

my 4cents.

Re: (SPOILER!) Daytona 200 Race

I watched it on and off. I did see Eboz's Duc take a ****. Ducati reliability at its' finest. Damn thing is good for a race, but not a long distance one.

I got to see 100% of the Yates episode. He popped that guy a few times right against the wall, the elbow jab, then the other rider made the jerking off symbol with his hand right back at him, and Speed got it all on tape/TV. Wow, that guy should really get some **** from the AMA, totally uncalled for.
He went on the outside of the guy, and the guy got a little scatter-brained I think. I've watched racing for more than a few years now and haven't seen anything like that.

Re: (SPOILER!) Daytona 200 Race

On the post-race wrapup they showed it again and it looked like Yates first drop kicked the guy in the back (while he was still probably woozy from the crash) and than he tried to headbutt him. Later they showed the privateer's crew getting in an AMA officials face about the incident. Regardless...it's racing.

Yates sucks and should be docked some points, if he ever gets any. Racing is racing. Yates should have been royally thrashed by E-Boz last year when he took him out at Laguna Seca, but Eric is a gentleman.
Yikes, that's another story.

E-Boz's Duc reportedly took a rock in the oil cooler, so if that's what really happened, then that's rotten luck. On the other hand, it could be just another typical Ducati DNF.

Yates needs to take out somebody who will then unhesitantly beat him down on national TV. He was making the pass, and so it was his sole responsibility to so so safely, which he failed miserably at. Then, his crew in the pits, Mladin included, were in the bully bad ass mind set for all to see on TV. What a bunch of unprofessional juveniles.

Don't have to like him personally but he is one hell of a rider. Not to mention his pit crew banging out 11 sec pitstops with 2 tire change and fuel

I was hoping for honda to take it home with Duhamel at bars but seems the 3 pit strategy worked

No, thats not racing. I've been racing for over 10 years and I have never seen such poor sportsmanship. Yates is the biggest A-hole I have ever seen. From my viewpoint the lapper was just that. He didn't even know what hit him. Yates' tires were off and he flat out hit the guy.

I agree that other guy looked stunned that someone was even there.

Go back to last yr and watch the race where B. Boz took out Duhamel. Yeah he was going nuts but **** he didn't drop kick him or throw a forearm into him. Understandably people get heated but that was a little much what yates did

Yeah, me to. Would have been a much better race with the Bostroms in there. Looked like Ben was going away early, tough break.Don't care for Maladin , but him and his team did a great race.

nah, Yates is a jerk. Look what he did to E-boz. Someone should have head butted him that day.

Re: (SPOILER!) Daytona 200 Race

Let me clarify my "that's racing" statement. I meant to refer to the fact that backmarkers are part of the race and Yates should've allowed enough room to get around the guy safely. Unlike Yates, this guy didn't stuff anyone up the inside and take out the points leader for the season...

Nice race, too much of a gap at the end between Mladin and Zemke/Duhamel though... and Yates should have gone for the inside with the speed and the space he had.

If anyone finds this video clip on the Net, please post a link here. I saw it live but would like to witness it again. Aaron Yates is a MadMan. His true colors shine through again.

I couldn't agree more, you are the overtaker, its your responsibility to do it right. he is the biggest tool I have ever seen. Whats with all the bitch ass'd jumping up and down like a little girl? And then the drop kick, whats that!? Is it the privateers fault? You just crashed HIS own bike, that he probably bought with his own $$, and you didn't even buy yours. if anything, he should have been bashing yates' head in. Totally unprofessional, he isn't half the man that duhamel or either of the bostrom brothers are...

Its a sad day for AMA racing... Just because you are racing at a NASCAR track, doesn't mean you get to act on the maturity level of a NASCAR driver.

What a ****ing tool. I can't wait for VIR, I'm gonna park my ass right outside his pit all weekend long!

Good. Yates deserves to have charges pressed against him. That was the most unsportsmanlike behavior I have ever seen in any race. And, I'm pissed that Mladin won.

Re: (SPOILER!) Daytona 200 Race

HEY, the guys and I that were watching together decided that this Yates episode is going to do great things for motorcycle racing. They can promote it as Professional Racing and Professional Wrestling all in one event!!!! Should increase viewership for sure. Some pay-per-view events. They've got the umbrella girls already. Some good pre-race hype. Miguel and Mat, spittin' an yellin' at each other calling each other names. High flying belly flops off the tire wall onto a just crashed competitor. Team Mananger running onto the track with a tire iron taking a swing at a racer flying by at 180+. OOOHHHH, maybe some bike sabatoge so that the 'slow privateer' racer has a brake failure goin' into turn one on the start!

Yeah, man. That's it.

All I can seriously say is, "Yates, You fumbducker"......
