Why I would be in jail now.(and Yate's in the hospital)

There would have been a nationwide live broadcast ass kicking if Yates tried that crap with me, and I would think many others. He's a dick, and needs a beating.

Anyone remember when he laid down on the track to red flag a race so he could get on his back-up bike? I would have ran his ass over for that one.

had I been the other guy I would have kicked his ass right after the first kick. I don't know too much about racing but it seems to me that Yates caused that accident? Seems the other guy shoulda been the one getting pissed!

It absolultly was 100% his fault. What a cockhole, I hope he's benched the rest of the season.

Drop kicking someone when they are getting up off the ground, and could have major/critical injuries I'm starting to think they should just kick him out, for good. It's not like this is his first antic anyway.

I agree 100%. That stunt could've exacerbated any injuries the other rider may have sustained. Fortunately, in this case, it seems the other rider wasn't injured, but that kicking and punching could have had more serious consequences had the guy been injured.

You have to wonder how Yates and his team would feel if the rider collapsed with a punctured lung, closed head injury or spinal cord damage after getting kicked . . .

Re: (Spoiler) Why I would be in jail now.

What Yates did was embarrasing and idiotic, but putting that aside for a moment, that was a fun race to watch on the 600s. He rode the piss out of that Suzuki 600 to try and keep competitive with the Yamahas and Kawis. He took some serious chances in the chicanes and caught up to the field, even leading several times, only to get whipped by those Yamahas and Kawis on the straights time after time after time. Draft or no draft Suzuki was getting killed out there on HP, for that style of track anyway. Kind of felt sorry for him until 'the incident'.

They'd probably say it was his fault for being injured, too.

I agree that it was stupid but also think you'd have to be in great physical shape to kick Yates ass....

Aaron is a big boy...I know I'd feel a little intimidated if that butthead was coming after me. Of course I'd just call NinerPilot to take care of it!

To be honest, after seeing his fighting moves, not to mention his flailing arms when "running like a leetle girl", I don't think it would take very much to beat his ass down.

I for one would have never been in that situation. I run alot faster than Aaron, even in my "leetle girl" form.

Re: (Spoiler) Why I would be in jail now.

If someone took me out like that and then came after me calling me names... I probably wouldn't back down either. Ok, Aaron's in better shape but there isn't much logic happening when all that adrenaline is flowing. I probably would have got my ass kicked but I still wouldn't have taken that ****.

I would have liked to see him jersey Yates... heh...

Re: (Spoiler) Why I would be in jail now.

From Cycle News...

The following is from Aaron Yates...

Racing has extreme highs and extreme lows. It almost seems like there's no in-between when you race at the level that I do. For me, after racing 170 grueling miles, I realized that I had a chance to win the race.

With about eight laps to go, I came up on some lapped riders. I set up to pass, using the same racing line that I'd been using on this part of the track all day - in both the 200 and in the 600 SuperSport race.

I came through on the brakes on the outside and in my peripheral vision I saw a rider stand his bike up. So I got on the brakes harder and stood my bike up a bit to give him some room. But I was running out of racetrack.

We went down and were sliding toward the wall and I was honestly thinking that I was going to break both of my legs. Thankfully, the impact was softer than I'd anticipated. I got up thinking that I'd raced 49 laps with eight left to go and a second-place finish in the Daytona 200 was down the drain.

I couldn't believe that this was actually happening. But I never had any intention of hurting anyone. The last thing that I want is for people to get hurt at the track. This is not the way that I wanted to look back on Daytona '04. And this is definitely not what I want the race fans to think of when they think of me.

I'm just so sorry that the whole incident ever happened. And I'm sorry if my actions offended or disappointed anyone.

Aaron Yates

Re: (Spoiler) Why I would be in jail now.

He's obviously feeling(reading?) the huge amount of negative backlash generated towards him right now, especially on the internet.

That IS pretty weak for an apology, IMO...
