IRTA test @ Catalunya

Riders have ridden in the 17 - 32 lap range thus far. So far Barros is quickest with a 1'45"464 with Rossi 2nd 1'45"542. I'm keeping the live timing up all day

Boothie

Maybe I should have said the Yamahama that Rossi will be trying to keep the tires on for race distance next year won't have a chance. I still think that's the case. ( It's not an R1, after all.) He's obviously the best rider, he just handicapped himself excessively IMO.

Can we (and by we, of course I mean you...) set up some kind of race by race pool this year so we can keep track of who doesn't know what?

Maybe the winner gets a tigerblade dollar from all the other participants. I don't know if that's legal - don't want to get anyone in trouble.

edit: from RRW

Lap times:
1. Alex BARROS, Honda, 1:45.464, 18 laps

Re: IRTA test @ Catalunya

Somebody please say something nice about Kenny Roberts Jr and the Suzuki. Looks to be an impressive performance so far, certainly when compared to last years dismal failures.

Surprisin times from the Ducatis. I can't believe that Hodgeson would ever be quicker than Bayliss or Capirossi. Maybe they are just trying out new stuff.

So what's Hopper's excuse?

edit: I guess top 10 isn't bad compared to last year...
edit2: I still think Rossi is the only one who'll give the Hondas a challenge...

WOW! A 30 mph difference between Lavilla's top speed and Capirossi's. Amazing they are even in the same race!

This was Hopper's first time on the bike since he broke both ankles.

The crash where not only did he screw up his shoulder (I think) but also reduced the only existing '04 Proton (at the time) to a smoldering heap of carbon? Yup, that was Kletus

Yup, wrong on both accounts. I can admit it The 1st 1/2 of the season he ran in the back, and binned it once. But midseason, something happened, he found his form, and did the business surprising many people, not just me. I still think he has too much hype, especially for someone who hasn't won a race yet. Let's hope he does this year, so Baketech can cream his pants. I thought the story last season was Sete Gibernau, and of course Rossi, but all we heard about on this site was Gayden. I dunno if it's the Snoop Doggy Dogg cornrows he decided to sport, or his Gay Joe Rocket commercials, I'll just never care for the guy that much.

Judging by the results today, Rossi is still the man to beat, on the POS Yamaha many people said that couldn't win a race, even though Biaatchi won on it twice in '02. Seeing Rossi standing in front of his new Z4 really has to wake some people up. It looks like he is the man to beat, AGAIN.

Edit: Capirossi recorded the highest trap speed so far in MotoGp, 215.8 MPH
****ing A

Actually, I am not a big Hayden fan.....I just never understood why you judged him on appearance and his choices of self expression instead of his riding ability....just seemed irrational to me....

I think he is a good rider, just really don't care for him. Some people can't stand Mladin for his self expression so He can ride, but I've always believed that his hype exceeds his riding.

Baketech, what do you think of Rossi getting the quickest time today, and winning the bimmer award? Do you think he has proved himself now on the Yamaha?

I think who gives a fock? Besides...I never felt Rossi, or anyone else had to "prove themself"....You must be confusing me with someone that has pontificated about Rossi in the past....

Anyway, like many I don't care too much about testing and practice....I'll pay more attention when the racing starts, and then, I really don't care who wins as long as it's fun to watch.....
