After a night of watching the GP at Jerez, there was in in depth discussion as to why some racers wear 'Tape' on the bridge of their nose during racing.

Everyone I watched it with (15 people... I love having a tv projector ) had their own reasoning, but if anyone actually knows why for sure I'd love to know!

Aren't they just "breathe right" strips? Nasal strips to help them breathe easier...I think

That's what I thought, then I heard commentry during one of the races about the riders' helmets having a breather system in them to stop them fogging up during wet / cold races, so someone suggested it might be to stop chaffing inside the helmet, where the mask sits against the nose...

If it is to help breathing, is it like the things people use to stop snoring?....

I also agree with the theory it is to help them breathe, apparantly it opens up the air ways to make breathing easier, it's not only the bike racers doing it, lots of car racers also do it and others sports people as well
