Good to see some 'Mericans at the top. QP1 doesn't mean much but hopefully they can stay top3 maybe and get some good starts.

True, but I think it's psychologically important for Colin to "win" something at this point. To beat the lap record helps too. It sounds like Rossi's really pushing to get his times which is kinda suprising since the other two Yamaha's are in front of him

True, I hope to see Colin do well (just not better than Hayden though). It seems like Colin has done pretty good in practice and qualifying but can't hang during the race.

Hayden/Colin in 1st and 2nd would be unreal.

Re: MotoGP LeMans FP and QP

The QP1 usally does not mean much except in the case of some poor weather. If it was to rain tomorrow, most likely those grid times would stick for race day and Colin would get his pole handed to him on a silver platter. I am happy for Colin. He, arguably, should be on the Repsol ride after the '02 snubbing, but I suppose a bit of politics and marketing played into the decision to hire Hayden. After all Hayden is a young stud and highly marketable in any country.

Re: MotoGP LeMans FP and QP

Yeah, it's good to see some 'Mericans at the top even if it is only Friday. It's frusterating for me to watch Colin during the races so far this year. He's my favorite by far, but for one reason or another, race day has been cruel to him so far this year. I know he has the talent to beat these guys and I know he's got the bike now too....it's just all got to come together on Sunday. I think he needs the confidence of winning something though. He seems a little streaky....underperform, underperform, underperform, dominate, dominate, dominate.....hopefully he's on the upswing.

I think Nicky's doing great so far. If it weren't for the early bobble in Jerez, he was looking REAL good for a podium.

Re: MotoGP LeMans FP and QP

Final Qualifying for the race:

gibernau
checa
biaggi
rossi
melandri
edwards
hayden
tamada
capirossi
bayliss
barros
nakano
roberts

Both Edwards and Hayden were unable to approach their laptimes from yesterday...Colin was at least a second off yesterdays time. Two Kwaks blew up in back to back laps oiling the superfast first turn. The mix of manufacturers is looking good though: Honda/Yamaha/Honda/Yamaha
