Re: We killed it!

As you can see by this interview on Amasuperbike web site, we killed Tuesday night. *We want the programming then very often don't make true efforts to watch. *I know from conversations with many 'so called' motorcycle racing enthusiasts. *I'd ask, 'did you catch Tuesday night they had Eric Bostrom on there?'. *Reply, 'Oh really!'.

We have no one to blame but ourselves for loosing this day. *Speedtv has a business to run and if we're not going to watch the programming, then say BYE-BYE!

Re: We killed it!

Well, that's a good point. If they do not promote it though.. people would no know about it. And when people tune-into TWT and fine infomercials like 'American Thunder' and 'Ride On'... I'm sure they think that's all that is on TWT. Which, by the sound of Greg White's article, that's ALL that will be on (a 1 hour condensation of racing and lifestyle?!?!? WTF is that!??&#33.

I figured SPEED channel would be showing competion, not a show about some little compan in B.F.E. that makes a grosly over-priced couch that looks like the azz-end of a Cadilwack.

F-em I say. Glad I cancelled my extended cable last year (manily because I did not want my money going to sewer's like MTV/VH1 etc.) SPEED was the only thing wortha crap.. I guess that's all it is now.. NAS-CRAP.

Gee, I don't remember them replaying the motorcycle races over and over again like he mentions. I only remember some races being telecast on Tuesday night and not on Sunday. I don't recall ever seeing MotoGP 250 races on Sunday, only Tuesday nights.

Re: We killed it!

I disagree with you.

'It was all-good, but in the end, it comes down to how many people were watching the repeats.'

First of all, WHO is in the pool of Nielson Ratings group? Motorcyle Racing enthuisist?

Second, not all the Tuesday programming are repeats (as far as network viewing). You don't get to watch the different racing groups all on Sunday, only to have them replayed Tuesday. Tuesday, sometime, is the only viewing of the race, MotoGP for example. Correct me if I'm wrong, and I'll tune to that channel.

I don't think 'we' are to blame, at least myself anyways.

Re: We killed it!

I'm guilty of not watching on Tuesdays... I have absolutely no interest in American Thunder, Corbin's Ride On or watching a replay of the Moto GP 125 race. Every now and then, they'll slip in a good race, but by-and-large they show support races instead of the Moto GP battles.

And Greg's garage is not entertaining...

Speedvision was great before FOX bought them out and I held out hope that it wouldn't turn into NASCAR 24/7. The reality is that the masses want to see NASCAR and nothing else.

I agree, why do they always have some dumb lookin' ho on there?

Sometimes its on at the gym I go to and I watch it while I ride the bike there... Pisses me off when some dumb broad is on there and she's only there to be seen. It sucks...

I don't watch SPEEDTV to see that crap... I'd rather hear E Boz or Kurtis or even Mladin talk then some skank...

Re: We killed it!

The repeats are being cut because no-one watches them?? Wait a friggin minute. They only aired the Catalunya GP at noon PST, but WSBK twice during prime time. I'm talking they aired both races twice!!
My point about the Catalunya GP is that I taped it, but I had to fast forward through the 1996 Daytona 500!! WTF They bitch about repeats but yet they air the entire 1996 Daytona 500 as if it was a live show. Complete with post race interviews and BS!
The Nelson Boxes must be given to all the Klan members in the south with a purchase of Winston Cigs......
Down with SPEED and their squewed outlook......

I call it the holding your hand show. Greg holds your hand while the racing is on. It's like the dumba$$ introductory show, gotta hold your hand into it. Why must everything on television be for idiots or stupid people? Because they make up the majority of our country

I just think greg is not a very good TV spokes person. Kinda 1/2 brainer.

Re: We killed it!

I usually watched TWT. You guys who are knocking some of the support races (125GP and such) have been missing out. I have seen some wicked competitive races on Tuesday nights, usually far more competitive than the bigger races they show on the weekends. Usually they have World Supersport, 125GP, and AMA Formula Extreme on Tuesdays (tends to run 2 uesdays after the actual race weekend). I swear the WSS races are some of the best to be seen. If they stop covering those races then I am truly going to be pissed. Now, if they show them at other times then I could do without the rest of the crap shows they have like Corbin's Ride On and such. Besides, I get my fill of chopper shows with TLC's American Chopper (that show is hilarious&#33.

Or people new to the sport who want to learn more so they can tell their friends and get their friends interested in the sport and there are more people to watch MC racing on TV thus making in profitable for networks to air races and other MC related shows.

I think you hit the nail on the head HD...

They are trying to strike a balance between informing new folks without alienating the current fans....a tough task for sure....not even sure it can be done.

Imho, its been a double blow this year....WSB is a yawner for new folks because of the lack of competition....and the 'brand' developement of Nicky was lost since he went to MotoGP.

Re: We killed it!

Glad to see some of you thought my same thoughts after reading that a____-wipe's comments. *I sent an e-mail stating that he needs to get a little better grip on his programming. *They had many races on Tues. night that were not on shown on the weekend. *AKA, Formula Extreme (at times), World Supersport, GP 125 (which is some of the best racing, the biggest bikes is not always the BEST racing) and others that I'm not thinking of at the moment.

I did enjoy Greg's garage because it did have some of the riders on it. *PLUS, come on ccwilli. *You put some tits near a bike on this site and everyone is all over it. *You can't blame em' for thinking it might get a guy or two tuning in! *Greg may not be a perfect host, but he seems to be a real enthusiast, decent guy and I bet he didn't make big bucks doing it for speedtv.

All in all, they're just making excuses to put more NASCAR on. *Look how they are taking away the dirt track stuff also. *They are not racing enthusiast. *They are MONEY enthusiast.

Re: We killed it!

BTW, I worded my first post as such hoping that it would get folks a little fired up and maybe respond to that dumb-ass network. I just hope they are getting tons of e-mails again. Not that will change anything, just plug up more of their time and NASCAR brains!
