Electronic steering damper on circuit

I would be very pleased to hear if anyone over there is racing a new 'Blade and still using the electronic damper ?
In Uk people seem worried about it in race use but ours now has 600 track miles and so far the damper has been fine .
Is it just that most racers want to set the damper to their own feel or has anyone better info on this ?
Thanks in advance for any guidance

I heard that here in Oz racers were removing the HESDs because they weren't adjustable and replacing them with aftermarket dampers. But apparently that issue has been resolved somehow and they're using them again. Sorry I can't be more specific.
Cheers

Re: Electronic steering damper on circuit

The reason that Honda Australia first took them off there bikes was because the ECU they were initially running did not facilitate the Electronic damper, but from what Ive heard they will be getting an updated ECU to allow them to use it

2 schools of thought. One as above, and the other, Honda told me that it is a weight issue. They aremaking a "cover" that looks like the original for marketing etc, but will still run an after market damper for actual use. But you always hear 10 different things from Honda and won't know until they actually do it.

Re: Electronic steering damper on circuit

Many thanks for the replies. Been a great help. Theoretically,in UK we MUST run it as its an integral part of the original machine and our Superstock rules are so tight so the fact there doesn't seem to be a safety issues gives us yje confidence to keep it.
