| Moto GP Travel Package? Has anyone ever booked a vacation to a Moto GP event outside of their own Country?
I am very interested in going to the 2005 Moto GP in Assen. I started looking on the net and haven't found the right vacation combination yet.
Any help appreciated.
Heck, maybe we could get a whole Fireblades group to go.

| Re: Moto GP Travel Package? I tried to do this last year, didn't want to go by myself, and just forgot about it. I was going to go again this year, but job future is uncertain.
Gptours.com have nice setups (look for the motogp packages), but you are looking at about $2k with flight, then you'll probably need a few hundred to spend on food (breakfast/lunch comes with the package). They are going to Brno and Estoril this year, I think that is all that is left, the first one was Mugello |

| Re: Moto GP Travel Package? I'll look them up, thanks. I was thinking about catching the Moto GP then traveling down Europe to Croatia via car (family in Croatia). Maybe spend a month over seas. I wanted to go with a reputable firm to be sure that the GP tickets I buy are good ones, or at least real. From there I'd break away from the package and set out on my own.
That would be my "Perfect World" scenario. But attending a European GP is a life long dream so if it were just for that, I'd still have a great time.
Assen, Catalunya and Mugello are at the top of the list for me.

| Re: Moto GP Travel Package? I'd be VERY interested in seeing a GP race at Assen... I looked into it last year and found flights for ~$450 if you purchased them early enough. Never thought about fake tickets but I think I planned on spending a few hundred. My plan was to stay somewhere outside of Assen (Amsterdam is only an hour or so away by train) and check out every day of the race event. That link Booth posted is a little pricey - reminds me of the F1 package "deals"... 2K plus meals? Sheesh!
Got this from Soup: If you have ever attended the TT, you will be well aware of the festivities that take place over the course of the weekend. It's a loud, crazy, carnival atmosphere, and you need to have your drinking shoes on. The Assen weekend is celebrated in style by the fans, many arriving early in the week to savor the Dutch hospitality from the patient locals. On Friday night, the town is closed off and the annual 'Assen fest' is held. The bars move out onto the street, there are sound-stages erected and live bands play until the early hours, a fireworks display lights up the sky, and there are lots of food outlets supplying the beer-fuelled crowd with much-needed sustenance. There are all types of entertainment presented, and no expense is spared. As you can imagine, the local economy booms--alcohol consumption by itself, for the most part, taking care of that. If you camp--as with Mugello, Jerez, and Donington Park--expect no sleep and be aware that the smoke you see filling the horizon isn't a scene from a John Wayne western. It's the by-product of some "questionable tobacco-based products." The sound systems, recreational consumption and inter-continental vocal competition will keep you on your toes until checkout time on Sunday (Assen is a Saturday race don't forget). |
