| Laguna Seca I love it, first practice for WSB and the fasted rider would currently be gridded 5th in AMA superstock! It'll be interesting to see how times compare this weekend between AMA and WSB. Also maybe E Bos will have a chance since he loves this track and michelin has some experience here. |

| Re: Laguna Seca I mean in AMA. He's had a tough year on the Ducati. It really too bad, there are going to be no american wild card riders this year. I think that is one of the biggest draw backs of the pirelli spec tire rule. That and first practice session times are 1.4 seconds off of last year. |

Hey everyone, come watch a bunch of has beens and youngsters stuck going nowhere compete with their spec "superbikes" against the FX series riders! Watch as the lowly AMA regulars destroy the mighty duck patrol. |

| Re: Laguna Seca Yee Haa. Vermulen. Go the aussies. I said at the start that the CBR is only gonna get better, and now it's up there winning, I rekon Chris can take it out. As for going nowhere.....I bet Chris is in G.P's in 2006.
The Pirelli rule wasn't placed to make the lap times faster, rather to keep the racing closer. Put your ama boys on the same tyres and see what they do then. Also, could someone please have the common decency to make sure they have the national fuking anthem for all countries ready besides the USA's? Waltzing Matilda is NOT our anthem . If we did that to you guys at PI, you'd be bombing us and saying how disrespectful we are. Ha |

| Re: Laguna Seca Have any of you aussies seen the film "The Dish". If you have, the scene where the High School band plays the US national anthem to the visiting US Ambassador, but launch into the Hawaii 5-0 theme instead, must have struck a, ahemm, chord.
Great film btw.
Saw another good Australian film last week, Japanese Story. Try and see it, well worth the effort. Toni Colette is a brilliant actress. Very moving film.

Edit:
I didn't think they played the rider's anthem in WSB anyway....thought it was the manufacturer's....

| Re: Laguna Seca And putting our top guys on Pirellis would make them only one second faster rather than two or three.
Whether those WSB B-rates were on Pirellies, Michelins or Dunlops had our top riders been racing WSB with them the podium would have been all AMA riders.
WSB is full of nobodies, if you can't deal with it that's your problem. |

| Re: Laguna Seca Vermuelen was awesome! Amazing racing. However, don't you think his bike has probably gotten quite a bit more backing from Honda in the past couple weeks/months since he has shown some good results.
It's totally clear that kid is going some where! Great racer.
My friends and I were thinking the same thing about the anthem. Pretty funny stuff. The P.A. system was f*cked up all day anyway. Surprised anyone even knew when the race was going to start.
Too bad the a lot of the local privateers crashed while riding really well in the AMA Superbike race and 600 Supersport races. |

Too bad Zemke's bike was puking all over the place in the AMA superbike. I'd have liked to seen him and Duhamel all over the points instead of Mladin. Although Ben made a great showing for the RR. |

He couldn't ride the RC for chit, so he didn't do much last year. The announcers during the Superbike race were killing me, "Bostrum won the title back in 1998 without winning a race" |

| Re: Laguna Seca And since when is Waltzing Mafukintilda the Japanese national anthem then? They play both the rider and the manufacturer anthems. The point is, that they get it right everywhere else in the world, but the U.S? Nah, it's the series organiser that fuks it up. .............yeah. right. hahaha You got nuthin'.
As for support? No way. That bike is way more standard than the ama CBR's that get full HRC support. It's just taken a while for them to figure it out, and now they they have, Chris is gonna be hard to beat from here on in. As for wsbk hacks and ama pro's ? Bahahahahahaha. Yeah, at YOUR home track. Everywhere else they'd get spanked. Pirelli's or not. |

| Re: Laguna Seca Yeah, the home track that the AMA never uses except for the WSB weekend? The one where the WSB riders get more track time than the AMA riders.
The track record is 1:24.88, set by Colin in 2002 in his pimped out "RC51". Bostrom clocked a 1:24.9. How close has any rider in the WSB come to any track record this season or last - when they could use other tires and didn't have the Biaggi-esque excuse? The poser series has sucked ass for the last two seasons, and if the AMA regs would knock the WSB posers off the podium at every round, on every track, Pirellis or not. Keep on crying, Matilda. |
