| MotoGP (spoiler) Wow! How good was that race! All the guys that finished on the podium did a great job. A good win for Biaggi, very smooth and consistant all race, Barros came home very strongly and got to see a little more of Nicky Haden, he was really comming into the turns hard under brakes, was really picking the rear and carrying it sideways into a few turns Glad I stayed up late to watch it! who cares if Im half asleep at work tomorrow

| Re: MotoGP (spoiler) Well.. say something!!!
Biaggi 1st, Barros 2nd and hayden 3rd, rossi settled for 4th, though with naother lap probably would have gotten 3rd.
Hate to see Biaggi on top, but I think he earned it. Rossi had a scare late in the race and I think he decided that his tyres were not really going to hold up to the speeds he was riding at. Looking forward to Donnington, this could be a heck of a season as we get to the last few rounds

Actually Ive taken a bit of a liking to Biaggi lately, He hasnt done a whole lot of whinging for a long time now and hes always so close yet so far, cops a lot of flack from everyone and always has Rossi's shadow hanging over him so Im pretty happy for him to be on top of the podium
ps. Melandri and Abe's crash was pretty spectacular, glad no one was too seriously hurt |

Z... | Ahhh, coulda, woulda, shoulda.... Nicky fought to the front after another bad start, while Rossi & company were up front the whole race. Rossi's Yamaha chewed up its tires, and he admitted that going any faster in the last few laps (after Nicky passed him) that he ran a high risk of crashing.
So, to Nicky for another podium, and to Rossi for using his head to finish the race as best he could to maintain his championship lead.
It's gonna be real interesting to see what new parts show up on Biaggi's bike, now that he's one point behind Rossi......... |

| Re: MotoGP (spoiler) This is how I thought the whole season would go - Yamaha eating tires at a prodigious rate, Hondas on the podium. Did all the other Yammies crash? Melandri, Abe, Checa, who else was on one? So for Rossi to have finished near the top was proof that he's a great rider. But I doubt he would have passed Hayden given another lap or two.
Sete better take stock of himself-- If he loses confidence, he's out.
Biaggi surprised me by toughing it out when Rossi looked like he was going to disappear. He kept focus, held off Barros, and was patient.
Great race. |

| Re: MotoGP (spoiler) 1 point difference between the leader (Rossi) and Biaatchi, Gibernau is now behind but not disasterously so. The rest of the season is going to get really good. All the podium finishers rode excellent races, a lot of good riders crashed out at this one. |

Z... | Yeah, Nicky isn't quite there, yet, but he's knocking on the door. His starts must improve, and this may be individual technique (unlikely, after watching his AMA days), or equipment. Clutches in these bikes are very finicky, it seems.
I doubt that you'll see the new exhaust on his bike before Biaggi's, simply because he's not in the championship hunt. Barros got it because he's further up in the standings, he's a factory rider, and he's Spanish, like his sponsor.
I wish Colin would figure things out and get on with it. He was way behind the front pack. |

Did anyone catch the crash between Melandri and Abe That was scary! Anyone know if Abe is okay? He didn't get up |

Meanwhile massive misfortune visited the Fortuna Gauloises Tech 3 team when both riders crashed out on lap 21 of the 30-lap race. Marco Melandri lost control of his YZR-M1 when the rear wheel touched the grass. The bike highsided the young Italian into the air and then Norick Abe hit the stricken machine at nearly 200kmh, crashing spectacularly as a result.
Both riders were circulating the 3.671km track in close company as they both tried to get the better of Honda runners Colin Edwards and Makoto Tamada. Marco and Abe were both well into the points places in seventh and eighth when the double disaster unfolded.
The good news however, is that neither rider was seriously hurt. Marco has three badly bruised fingers on his right hand and Norick a very stiff neck after landing on his head when he was launched off his machine. He is undergoing a precautionary X-rays to his neck and the left side of his ribcage. | |

I wish Colin would figure things out and get on with it. He was way behind the front pack. | I just wanted to point out that Barros is not Spanish. He is Brazilian.
However, you are correct that he got the special gear first because of his points standing and the fact that he isn't American. |

I'm glad Rossi used his head to score some points
I'm starting to actually like Biaggi since he is not shooting his mouth off anymore (well not in public anyway) |

Sete must be shitting his pants. Goes from leading, to being tied, to crashing out twice, now he is in third. He'd be way behind if it wasn't for rossi going out last race. He really has to be pressuring himself now.
Good work by colin to get 5th, very consistent, but not consistently higher in the order.
Rossi is Rossi. And don't forget it... |

It seems this season he usually sarts the race in 11th or farther behind. At the end of the race he seems to finish in forth. He has the skills to do it. I wonder how well he would do if he was riding a factory(Honda) sponsored bike? |

Great race. | I totally agree.
Glad to see Rossi used his head and is thinking about the Championship instead of winning.
Good job Max,even though I hope Rossi wins the Championship. It would be nice to see Honda knocked off it pedestal.

No it wouldnt It would however be nice to see someone run the #1 plate besides F'n Maladin.... I think he is the only racer running that plate.

I WISH we still had access to the old board so I could grab some posts from the people who said he didn't deserve his ride.
Great race by Max... guy kept his head, rode an excellent race and deserved to win. I'm very surprised Alex didn't crash again and Melandri and Abe's crash was SCARY! Is anyone else catching themselves rooting for Roberts/Hopper? I read somewhere John might be going to the tuning fork next year... love to see it! |
